My wife purchased the program 5 weeks ago. I've lost 32 pounds so far. My wife has only lost half as much weight (but her change is the one that people notice first). We are extremely pleased with the results. Although the first couple of weeks were pretty rough, our bodies have adjusted to the amount of food and the amount of exercise. We have every intention of staying with the program until we reach our target weights...and using these concepts to maintain those target weights.

The diet worked a little for me, but unless you can actually afford to watch the clock and be sure to eat on time every 3 hours, then it's not one I would recommend.

I understand all the negative posts--this information is already out there, there is prep and cooking time, food choices, etc. Having said that...I'm on the program, I'm a very common type, "B" probably like the 1/3 of adults in the USA who are overweight. Way back, we were told...oh, just count calories. How I could go on. Michael has a program that put food into groups---for us "B" types, we look at a cookie, we gain weight. But we can eat, this plan works for me. As for the time it takes---the plan expects us to prepare and cook our meals the way we're supposed to, you shop, you cook. Like generations before us. Families---part of your day is expected to be feeding your family. I know it's easy to stop by ...somewhere...to pick something up. If lack of time to cook for your family is a problem, you may need to re-think your life, don't blame Michael. Food cooked fresh is naturally healthier...the plan has easy recipes, and enough configurations to keep you full, healthy, and...to stop obsessing about what you eat. That's why we're on this program. You have choices...plan, shop, cook, eat. Then forget about it. You did good. Best of luck~~

I have been overweight practically all my life and now that I'm in my late 20's, I want to finally have the body that I've always dreamed of. I was watching Extreme Makeover one night and saw the results the ladies experienced from following Michael Thurmond's program. I jumped at the chance when I saw his informercial on TV the next night. After receiving the kit, I read everything to a tee and made sure that I was 100% committed to following it. Well, it's been 2 weeks since I started and I have now lost 13 pounds! Nothing else in the past has really worked for me, so I am so excited about this program. I started out at 192 pounds and now I weigh 179! I can't wait to see the final results. Yes this is time consuming and can include bland foods at times, but if you learn how to tweak this plan to your own lifestyle I guarantee you'll love it! Nothing tastes as good as being thin.

I bought this product in April 2005. My first week, I lost 8lbs. I am a 4hour per day commuter, plus a 10 hour a day job, plus 2 kids. While forcing myself to eat 5 times a day and having the food ready, it is well worth the extra effort on sat or sunday or at nite to prepare for the next day/week. The variety of foods really helps my finicky appetite. This is actually a program I can stick with!! Thanks Michael!!!!!

I just started the program and have lost 9lbs my first week, but I believe it to be more because I didn't weigh myself when I first began, but anyway, one week at a time. I'm incorporating the exercises into this weeks schedule.

I bought the 6 week body makeover when it first came out. I lost 32 pounds in 10 weeks. I didn't exercise at first as I had no energy, not due to the diet, but rather because I was fat and out of shape. I am a wife and a mother of three sons, have a job with long hours, and of course I found the time to cook a bit differently. I was motivated and tired of being fat. After week three, I started exercising. I didn't notice losing weight any faster, but my waist became slimmer and my butt got way more shapely. Since I lost my big butt, I eat meals normally, but still eat extra snacks. I eat treats, but don't hog. I exercise twice a week, sometimes walking, sometimes with the powerbands, and sometimes bicycling. I exercise not to lose weight, but because I actually enjoy the workout and really enjoy my body being shapely again. I'm way past forty, am 5'7" and weigh 136. My husband and sons actually did the diet with me. They didn't need to lose weight, they just wanted to show me support. I recommend this product to everyone who wants to lose weight, and is tired of gimmicks that only give short term weight loss, and who are willing to keep an open mind and give something new and a little crazy sounding a chance. Happy with the healthy slimmer me.

If you do not have children and you have no life this is the diet for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was extremely hard to eat 6 times a day & drink all that water. When you have small children that require attention constantly & you are the primary caretaker, there is no way you can do the program, unless of course you have a nanny. I tried the program for 2 weeks & did loose a few pounds, and almost my mind for that matter. I prepared food ahead of time (late in the evening, after the children were in bed) & evenput the correct servings in seperate containers. However, my timing was always off. When you are taking care of children most of the time when you think about it you look at the clock & you missed the time to eat by about 1 or 2 hours. Forget trying to exersice. When you get up before 7:00am with a baby (who was also up at least once at around 2am) and have 2 more to follow & the oldest at 5 goes to bed around 8:30pm. By that time you still have things to do aroung the house that you could not do while the children are awake. Finally time for yourself at around 10pm. Do you think you have the energy or desire to work out? Sure you can try to get up before the first child wakes. Who really has the energy to do it? Once again, if you do not have children or have a nanny, this is the diet for you!

I have been VERY pleased with this program & indeed lost the 30 lbs. that I had been guaranteed to lose & have kept it off since. I am still on the program & find it to be healthy & not at all difficult to stick with. I believe on this program I shall reach my goal weight. After having studied nutrition & exercise I have found this program to be sound in both areas & would & have recommended it to others.

This program is the only weight loss program that has worked for me. I actually lost 15 pounds in three weeks which was amazing. However my food choices abd cooking methold was so restricted that I was going crazy and was not able to stand it more that those first three weeks. I would love to be able to stay on this diet because my health and energy were so much better. I got to the point that I could not eat at all since it was so depriving. I hated the food/eating choices and I really feel like a failure again.

I have read all the negative comments about the 6WBMO plan, but I for one am very satisfied with it! I started the plan the latter part of October 2004 and by the end of December 2004, I had lost 30 lbs. I tweaked the program a little bit but it didn't adversly affect my weight loss. Yes, the cooking is time consuming and the meal plan is restrictive, but it is definitely worth it. If you are a person who hates to cook or exercise, then the 6WBMO is not the plan for you. I have tried other diet plans and had success, but Michael Thurmond's 6WBMO is by far the best one I've tried. Everyone I have recommended the plan to has had great weight loss and you will too if you are mentally ready to lose weight and committed to do whatever it takes to gain a healthy life style!

I am currently doing the Michael Thurmond plan and have lost 30 lbs. since January 5, 2005. It works! I don't starve, take pills or mix drinks. I don't have to count points...I just lose the weight without effort. I love it, it is the healthiest thing I have ever done. I recommend it to everyone who is devoted to being healthy and losing weight.

I've tried a number of diets/plans programs and while it is restrictive initially, this program does work. I have been on it since Sept. of '04 and have lost 45lbs to date. It took me 15 years to get to 255lbs and just under 4 months to get to 210 and I have to tell you, it was easier than I thought it would be once I fugured out what to prepare beforehand. Nothing else gave me the same results as this program. I even started going to the gym (3 weeks in a row now) and don't feel ashamed of the way I look anymore. The body type thing? Well I believe it. I have 5 friends who have used this program and all of us have followed it based on the different body types that we have and all have experienced similar results. Yes, there is effort, yes it's restrictive, but it works.

At the library, you can check out books and search the internet. If you do that, you will find all the information offered in this plan. Free. You can learn all you need to get and keep yourself informed and motivated. You can find online or IRL support groups for people trying to get healthy. Recipes, advice, etc. and you dont have to buy this plan in order to gain access. All for free, folks. You can buy one of those workout rubber bands and maybe a video to get you started, for cheap. So why in God's name would anyone pay $129 plus shipping? Oh that's right, the "body type" gimmick. I know, people really do have different body types. But the importance this program places on it is a crock, a $129 crock. I read every word of all the material, for ALL the body types, listened to the tapes, etc. The reason this plan "works" is because no matter which type you are, its a very strict diet. (WARNING: when I say strict I'm not kidding. Please consult your doctor beforehand if you plan to follow the diet to the letter. WARNING: if you hate fish, you won't be able to do this diet) Then youre supposed to change your eating habits permanently. Also, you have to do cardio and resistance training. If you do all that, it doesnt matter which "type" you are, youre going to get healthy. I would NEVER have bought this for myself, I hadnt heard of it until someone gave it to me as a gift. It was only just now, as I came upon this site, did I see how much it costs. Unbelievable. Actually it was given to me years ago when it first came out, so for all I know it cost even more back then! (You know how they keep dropping the price on that Ronco rotisserie thing) Also, the plan could have been revamped somehow, maybe it comes with more stuff, but that still wouldnt justify the outrageous price. To anyone who has already bought this and had success, that's great. But I'm writing this to the people considering buying the plan. Unless you are too lazy to research a bit on your own, this is a complete waste of money.

I finally received my Michael Thurman's 6 week body makeover and began yesterday. Weighing in at 218 pounds, with a 5' 5" frame. Anxiously, I answered the questionnaire, did my blueprint and began the custom eating plan and when I stepped on the scale this morning, I weighed 213 pounds.I have no idea where that 5 pounds went, but I am feeling really great! If this is the progress that I will be seeing in the future, you can bet that I won't be giving this product back. Looking forward to a leaner me life! Thanks Michael.

Not a product for me, and as far as all the weight loss the 1st week Ahh hello it's more then likely water that was retained! My advice is eat healthier and exercise you will see a weight difference. More importantly it is not healthy to loose more then a pound or two a week! Cut your red meats down eat more white meats or fish not breaded stuff either, spice up your meats with a different spice or combine spices. Don't totally cut everything out right away or you will crave it. Incorporate Slim Fast or another diet in with your daily routine that works for you! And exercise we all have to exercise to stay healthy just don't over do it, it will not help you! Also try putting some green tea into your diet... Making simple changing in your lifestyle will help you loose weight! How do I know? I am a SAHM to 4 kids and I am over weight and I have incorporated slim Fast & Weight Watchers into my diet and I am being cautious of what I eat and exercise at least every other day for 30 minutes. I have lost 8 pounds and 2 inches of my waist alone in 3 weeks!! I am just getting started!!!!

I started the 6 week body makeover last Friday, 5 days ago. I have since lost eight pounds ! However last night I was laying on my bed and my heart started slowing down and was pounding out of my chest and skipping beats, and then I stood up and my heart started beating super fast, I got sweaty, shaky, felt like I was smothered, and felt like I was going to pass out. It then happened again after 15 minutes. I drank a gatorade, eat a banana and drove myself to the ER. It was truly the most scared I have ever been. I thought my heart was going to stop! They told me that my sodium, potassium, and chloride were all low and that I NEED SALT!!! I could have died and I thank the Lord that I did not. PLEASE discuss this plan with your doctor before starting it. I am continuing the diet because I have 100 pounds I need to lose, and I am ready for lifestyle changes, but I will have to incorporate a banana and a healthy amount of sodium in the plan each day - to stay alive... Be careful on this plan

It was the best present I ever bought myself. In any program it takes a certain mind set and determination a desire if you will. Mike Thurmond gave that to me and I am thinner than I ever have been before in my life and much healthier. It also gives you the self-esteem that has been lost with being heavier.

This is a nutritionally sound and well rounded program. There is a ton of support online; the groups are fun. I lost 26lbs within the first 2 months. I have been able to keep it off. I am getting ready to start another round as I have more weight to go. The meal planning (cooking and storing portions) and taking time to eat 5-6 small meals a day is the most time consuming aspect but gets easier with practice. After trying every other method out there...this one worked. It was pretty painless and in no way jeopardized my health.
