Product Claims
The Ab Slide provides one of the very best exercises for the midsection. It allows the abdominals to be isolated, causing an effective extension and contraction of the ab muscles. At the same time, you will also be toning muscles in your arms, shoulders, and back.Exercise routines are sometimes difficult to get into and usually don’t last, but with the Ab Slide all you need is 3 minutes a day and you will feel the strengthening and toning of your lower and upper abdominal muscles, obliques, chest, shoulders, and arms. It’s easy to use: Simply put your knees on the floor, grab a hold of the handlebars, and push forward.

love it.

28 Nov 2007 - Anonymous of North Carolina, USA writes:

I've owned the ab slide for 5 or 6 years and love it. The review on this page saying that the spring strains out is probably a result of misuse. If you roll the ab slide backward before rolling it forward, it will strain the spring.

Piece of junk

19 Aug 2007 - Peter of California, USA writes:

Save your money! I bought the Ab Slide a few years ago and I can say that I was thoroughly unimpressed. For starters, the unit is made of cheap plastic and other inferior materials. Secondly, it didn't take much time for me to overstress the spring that keeps the unit from running away from you. Maybe this thing breaks if you weigh 200 lbs. Lastly, I get better workouts from a video program or doing crunches alone. If the actual quality and craftmanship improved, then the product might be 'OK' for targeting multiple muscle groups in one exercise - that's why I bought it, but the product just didn't deliver. Don't buy!

An entire review

1 Jul 2007 - Stephanie of New York, USA writes:

I started to use the abslide my senior year of high school when prom time came around. I was about 10-15 pounds overweight as well as being 4'11. Plus with that weight, I was also just completely untoned. Now I had about a three month timeline in which I could get into shape. I used this machine every day once in the morning and once in the night for about 15 minutes (random pauses in between). The machine didn't really strain my neck or back. Now, I did use weights every day. I did see results but very slowly and restricted my diet a lot. The machine does work but it really depends on the person's situation. It won't provide a full workout at all. You need really read over the instruction manuel to know how it works right.

This Seems to be Working

8 Apr 2007 - Mary of New York, USA writes:

I am a teenager. I used the ab slide in gym class and I just had to buy my own. I got it and it seems to be working really well. It has been hard to sit up because my abs are sore but, it's a good sore though. I can deal with this soreness because it feels like it is working. My back feels a little stained but thats because I relized I am soppose to pull back up with my abs. I hope this works like people says it does! :]

Good product

4 Apr 2007 - Tessa of Maryland, USA writes:

I bought this product when it first came out, some years back, and it does work. I used to do ab exercises 10 minutes a day, five days a week and no amount of crunches or sit-ups produced results like the ab slide. The ab slide is good for building core muscles but if you have a lot, or even a fair amount of fat around your midsection, you won't see that six pack until you loose the fat on top of it. The ab slide is great, but I would recommend an ab wheel --like the ab slide but just a wheel and two handles. While the ab slide is initially easier to use because it helps pull you back up, an ab wheel costs less and forces you to use your entire body to balance and produce controlled reps. I get better total body results from the wheel, but the ab slide is still pretty good.

Really does work

26 Feb 2007 - Mary of Minnesota, USA writes:

I'm writing this review because this is an effective product. I owned an abSlide a few years ago and got a fantastic workout from it. After a short workout I could feel the tightening in my stomach next day..I could hardly sit up that first week because my muscles hadn't gotten that kind of workout before! They were sore, but a "good" sore. It is ultra effective, but takes up no space. I lost my abSlide in a move 2 years ago. I recently tried the new workout machine Red. (a stool that you twist on for the workout) It wasn't NEARLY as effective and cost 3 times more. I bought a secondhand abSlide this week to replace the one that I lost, and boy am I glad I did. I'm going to enjoy getting my abs back into shape for the summer. P.S. this is NOT a fake review. Thanks! ;-)

great product

27 Sep 2006 - Samantha of Ontario, Canada writes:

My dad bought this product a few years ago and we both use it regularly. It tones your abs and back muscles aswell as your arms. It does take alot of effort when you first begin especially if you are out of shape. This machine is not a miracle worker though. As with any program you have to eat a well balanced diet and keep your activity level up. I know some people have tried it for a few days and given up claiming it doesn't work but as with any program the only way to get results is to stick with it.

I have had the ab slide for 2 years now and its the best. I have tried a lot, a personal trainer and everything yet the ab slide is what helps the most. It doesnt take that much time for you to feel and see results. I trimmed my waist and lost 4 sizes. If you follow a healthy eating plan and you jog for 30 mins a day adding 10 minutes of ab slide, you will see results within the first week!

I'm 59 and I use the abslide to prepare for skiing. It helps my "core" as long as you do it correctly, by using your abs which can be attained by lifting your feet off the floor and rest only on your knees.

I bought this product a year ago and I can definitely say it works. After the first week I saw a different. BUT I was ALSO jogging and dieting. I noticed a huge difference in my stomach as well as my arms. It was pretty painful the first week but well worth it. I stopped after about 2 months because my back had had it. I'm thinking of starting again. I would only recommend this too someone who is tolerant of back pain.

I had bought this product about a year ago and was really excited to use it, after seeing it on T.V. When I began to use it, it was VERY difficult to use. There was Alot of stress on shoulders and wrists.  I'm not 19, but I was 18 when I purchased it and only weigh 109lbs.  I was hoping for a trimming effect, I didn't get the results I wanted, just major shoulder and wrist pain. Luckily I got a full re-fund. I don't reccomend it.

now this product is 100% effective, i used every ab machine, routine, you name it, i tried it, the chair the belt everything, never worked, i work on my abs everyday, with no good results, i have had this slide for almost 2 years, and neglected it, i was at the point that i was desperate almost about to have a tummytuck, then i started using the slide, i was about to cry after 3and half weeks when i started seeing some kind of results, i had it here all along, and spent all types of money on different things, and wasted all this time, i couldve been where i want to be by now, but now that i have it, and i see it gives true results, i will use it everyday, i truly recommend this ab slide more than any thing

The ab slide did wonders for all areas of my body. It certainly is a great product when combined with your daily routine. However i would not recommend this product to people with back pain. Overall it proved to be very affective and i continue to use it every day.

8 Jan 2005 - Marichu of Manila, Philippines writes:

I think this really works.  I've been using this for 2 weeks already.  At first, I hurt my back, arms and knees.  I used a small pillow to support my knees.  As to my back and arms, I realized that I was doing the wrong thing..  So, I read the instructions again and found out that I was supposed to use my abs to help me pull back.  From that time on I never hurt my back and arms anymore. This is a good product.  Minimized effort to improve your abs.  :)
