Before you buy a Bowflex Revolution

24 Dec 2007 - Jay of California, USA writes:

While this machine would be great for those bouncing back from an injury, it is hardly a machine for someone who needs a serious workout. At lighter weights the machine performs ok but feels very fragile at it’s mid to upper end weight scale. The Bowflex Revolution in no way provides a "gym quality workout" especially at this hefty price tag. I love cable type workouts but the feel of this machine coupled with the cheep plates provided left me disappointed. One other example would be in order to do a leg press you need to reconfigure the machine and the bench feels like it could snap off. Also, expect long shipping delays and insurances for weeks that "it's on the way any day" from the sales staff. (Since this is considered a negative review, it has disappeared from many other review sites). This is one of the most over hyped products I’ve had the pleasure to test. 5/10 stars IMO.

Received 3 Days After Ordered

5 Feb 2007 - Louis of North Carolina, USA writes:

I recently purchased the Bowflex Revolution with limited expectation. I figured it would have similar progressive resistance as earlier models but not so. It has constant resistance throughout movement; it doesn't actually compare exactly with free weight poundage, maybe a little heavier or just getting use to it. The unit is very smooth and quiet. I've seen results in 2 weeks. This unit will build muscle maybe better with beginners. The same free weight routine can be performed in 3/4ths the time with the ability to perform cable routines. I'm 6'2" and only wish the height was a little higher for us tall guys, but it doesn't affect my routines. My wife is 5'3" and if it was any bigger of a machine it would be uncomfortable for her. I received it with a broken piece that didn't affect operation which was replaced in 4 days without problems. It took 1 1/2 hrs. to assemble by myself.

Worth every penny

11 Nov 2006 - David of North Carolina, USA writes:

I received my Revolution a few days ago, and put it together in just a little over an hour. To my dismay I found that the plate the arms lock into was bent in shipping. The damaged part is welded to the main unit of the machine, so I thought I was just screwed. I immediately called the support line, and they were extremely helpful. They are shipping out the new part as soon as possilbe. They also told me to do whatever I could to make it useable in the meantime, and that it would not void my warrenty. A crowbar did the trick. The workouts on this machine are amazing. I was a free weight man for the longest time, but I am definately singing a different tune now.

The Revolution will be live

27 Jun 2006 - Jerry of Washington DC, USA writes:

Getting a Bowflex Revolution is likely the closest anyone will ever get to having a robot monster delivered to their house. It arrives in four or five boxes and some of the assembly takes place while its still partially in the boxes. It is very well designed and construction quality is very high. Using the machine can be an addictive experience as the build quality translates into exceptionally smooth and quiet workouts. To say that there are a variety of workouts available on this machine is an understatement since it can be set in several configurations each with variations based on user position, amount of resistance, position of pulley arms, etc. We bought this machine to replace the myriad of smaller exercise machines(dare I say junk)that populated our house and we couldn't be happier. A word of caution however: this machine is not small! Be prepared to commit a significant amount of space to utilize it properly.

Bowflex revolution is good to me!!!

21 Mar 2006 - Leroy of Maryland, USA writes:

The bowflex revolution give great tension. The plates are lightweight. My favorite part is the continuous tension(same tension is throughout movement). The weight is the same throughout the whole Movement. This machine imo is good quality and well worth the money. You can do more than just tone with this machine you can build muscle. Ive had this machine for 4 months and i love it and my whole family agrees....even my grandmother and sister can use it for their needs (for all ages). I like the ab crunch on this machine (but you still need to diet...hehe. The arms are adjustable makes it easy to get a good form for all excercise and even make up new ones.....yay!!!.... hehe. I love it!!!
