This unit and the Gym Fitness unit both work well mainly for relaxation, If you find the electronic stimulation of the muscles to be relaxing. This unit has the advantage of using 2 AAA batteries, which are cheaper, more available and last longer than the single watch battery type cell that the Gym Fitness unit uses. The Gym-fitness unit has several noticeably different modes, they feel quite different; but the Electro-gym has different modes also. The Gym fitness unit has mode and intensity indicator lites. Only buy any of these units for the relaxing sensation, [if you find it relaxing], not for any fitness gains.
