Not Sure

14 Jun 2007 - Sara of South Carolina, USA writes:

I received my Fluidity Bar a week ago. The workouts are challenging but they are also different than what I'd thought they'd be. I'm having a difficult time determining if I'm using proper form or not on some of the exercises. Maybe in time I'll figure it out. The bar comes with 3 DVD's and while there are some differences they seem the same. Michelle has her instruction and cuing down to a science so much so that it's not very motivating in my opinion, but the time goes by fast and in the end if it works then I'll be satisfied. After using the bar I feel relaxed but energized. As for the quality of the bar and ease of set-up, I find both to be excellent. Will update again in a couple of weeks.

1st review of Fludity Bar

14 Jun 2007 - Jane of California, USA writes:

When the bar arrived, it was a lot heavier than expected 61lbs! It's not has compact as expected either but it does fold up nicely and it's very stable for a portable bar. When I first received the bar I simply scanned the intermediate video to see what the workout was like. I was honestly disappointed and considered sending it back until I actually started doing the exercises. The workout is very challenging, the abs portion is great, however I found the arms portion a little weak. While I just started I as of yet don't have results to share; I am now optimistic that this workout will be effective. It should be noted that the workout depends upon correct posture and alignment, which means you need to constantly check your positioning during the exercises. I expect this will improve as I get used to the workout.

Fluidity packs a hidden punch

12 Jun 2007 - Brenda of South Carolina, USA writes:

For the most part, I'm pleased. Sturdy, considering what it does, though it lifts slightly when you pull your weight away from it.Once you relax and realize it will hold you, its ok. Beginner tape deceptively easy, until you really start doing the moves correctly, and getting the full affects. Intermediate and advanced could have more variety for my taste, but I have other DVD's I can use with the bar. It's somewhat heavy, so better if you have somewhere to leave it out, at least partially. Be aware that mat will fall on your foot if you don't hold when opening. Won't hurt you, but be aware. Facing away from instructions a little awkward on some of the exercises but you soon learn the routines. Good, ingenious engineering and I would buy again. Great if you have dance background.Intense workout with short reps and great toning.

Don't expect drastic changes!

12 Jun 2007 - Anonymous of Georgia, USA writes:

UPDATE: I've had the bar about 3 months and haven't seen the drastic results claimed by the ad. I have noticed my muscles appear leaner, longer, and are more shapely. The claims are a bit far-fetched, but I do believe the exercises are good for toning. Still think it's pricey, but cheaper than the gym.

I love it...but it's not made for tall girls

10 Jun 2007 - Heidi of New York, USA writes:

I've had the fluidity bar for three weeks now and I've been doing the workouts about 3 times per week. I really like the workouts but the bar is not as sturdy as the infomercial leads one to believe. Also, I'm 6'0" and the bar doesn't raise up quite high enough for me. The mat also needs to be longer. That said, I guess I'm just used to things (jeans, swimsuits, workout equipment) not being made for taller women. I will keep using the system and just standing off the mat in the back for foldover work.

Wow...tougher than it looks

9 Jun 2007 - Brandy of Connecticut, USA writes:

I recieved the Fluidity Bar and accessories a couple of weeks ago but did not open it until I just got settled into my new apartment. I took it out yesterday and tried the beginner workout. I will be honest, I am quite overweight and out of shape so I could not even get through the first half, but as hard as it was I am excited about doing it again. I was amazed that there was no muscle soreness the morning after! I really felt it working as I struggled to complete the moves. I am looking forward to updating in the future!

going on week 5

3 Jun 2007 - Ad of Georgia, USA writes:

UPDATE: Yes! I definitely "see" a beautiful difference in my body. I also feel it. For the first time in a long time, I feel sexy, healthy and energized. Today I put on some leggings and actually looked good in them. I can't believe how firm I am in places I have never been firm in my life, like around my knees! The cellulite there is gone! My whole body just looks younger and I don't shake when I walk naked anymore either! I think I can handle having a boyfriend now. I can do these exercises forever because it just keeps getting better. I never knew what it felt like to have a firm rear...It's lovely!

Good product

31 May 2007 - Christina of Pennsylvania, USA writes:

I received mine in a timely fashion (i paid the extra 10 dollars or so)... It's much larger than i thought it would be, which is a little dissapoiting because i wanted to take it to my college dormitory, buti think i'll manage to find somewhere to store it. The work out is great, i'm suprised at how hard it is! i'll keep you updated. I do the workout 1-2 times a day.

Loving it!

30 May 2007 - Anonymous of North Carolina, USA writes:

I have had my Fluidity Bar for about a month now...I live alone, so I just set it up in my dining room and leave it up all the time. I just LOVE IT! Since it is there where I see it every day...I use it! I love the workouts that came with it, I find Michelle quite helpful, but I don't limit myself to those. I find myself using it to stretch on my own...5 minutes here and 5 minutes there, even on days that I don't do the workouts that came with it. It has been very beneficial to me...I am feeling my back and legs get back into proper alignment...which is what I was searching for...SOMETHING that would help with that. AND...my Chiro is very pleased with my results. LOL...he may not be so pleased when I don't have to visit him so often...

AWESOME product! GREAT for spot toning...

27 May 2007 - Pattie of Florida, USA writes:

I bought this product and have been using it month now. I LOVE it !! I don't have any weight to lose -just needed to tone up. After the first day I ALREADY noticed toning in my abs !Now they are really "cut" with a line down the center and definition on the side. Thighs & seat are getting slimmer. What's nice is you will see results without being sore the next day. I look forward to using it and do it three times a week. Some exercises I have not mastered yet though...such as "flat back" where you have to sit, legs out in front and push UP on the bar and lift your legs to the sides or in front. As I keep doing it though I am getting a little better, but my heels still drag on the mat because I do not yet have enough back (or abs?) strength. Great product.....will definitely keep using !!!

Loving it!

20 May 2007 - Meghan of Tennessee, USA writes:

I have had the fluidity bar for about 3 months now. On average I use it 3 times a week. For years I weight trained. I was sick of it and I always bulked up really fast. So I decided to try something different. Since I have been using the fluidity bar I have noticed a huge difference. My body has changed. My muscles are connecting and defining. The ab workouts are the best I have ever done!! The workouts are simple and challenging. I do the intermediate, advanced, and seat & thigh. I love them all. I am getting better results than I ever did with weight training. It's nice to get a full body workout in less than an hour. I have already recommended this to many of my friends!

Just getting started

16 May 2007 - Shelly of Colorado, USA writes:

Having been a dancer, I purchased my Fluidity bar in hopes of regaining the body I had 15 years ago. Set up of my bar took only a few minutes, and I found the beginner workout to be interesting and effective. I think this is something I can do! I found the bar to be suprisingly stable and it folds away in my living room in about 30 seconds. I keep it in plain sight since it is unobtrusive. This also is a great reminder for me to work out. Will keep you posted on my progress. I hope I get the results I expect.

Week 9

14 May 2007 - Cheryl of Colorado, USA writes:

UPDATE: Started the Advanced workout yesterday. It is basically the same as the Intermediate only you are doing the moves slightly different. Wow! I really liked it. It was tough yet simple. I am still doing the workout every other day with cardio. My stomach, seat and thighs are slimming down! Finally! The bar is definately not stable, I need to bend my arms throughout the workouts so I don't fall over. Be back in 2 weeks.

A Dancer's Rescue

14 May 2007 - Carolyn of South Carolina, USA writes:

I must admit that the bar is bulky and was an excuse for me not using it for about four months. But I just recently started doing the fluidity workout five times a week. Coming from someone who was a dancer for 12 years, who has been sedentary for the past four, I can say that this workout is amazing! Once the bar is set up (really the most difficult part), the workout itself is rather easy. Not painless though. But I can already tell a difference in my seat. I would definately recommend it and Michelle Austin is very helpful. She gives several tips on proper positioning, some that I didn't catch until I was doing the video for the fifth and sixth time (and all the tips really made a huge difference in the way the move or stretch felt). It has been what I have been looking for to replace the lack of dance in my life.

Whoops!

11 May 2007 - Bri of Arizona, USA writes:

UPDATE: I left a review here in April - it was the first time I'd used the bar. I really liked it and thought it would help me with my stretches before my training walks. Well, I got lazy after about a week. I loved the bar don't get me wrong, I just loved my pillow and snoozing more. So I slept the extra 20+ minutes and then went into my training walks with only about 5 minutes of stretching. Not smart. Shin Splints and hurting feet later now I'm back to using the fluidity bar before my walk. What a huge difference. I haven't done the entire workout yet, since my desire was for the stretches. But I think maybe I should start doing the whole workout on my free day from walking...I think it would help my stiff muscles on that day a great deal.

Still using afte 3 months!

9 May 2007 - Amanda of South Carolina, USA writes:

I really like the fluidity bar. I do the advanced workout 3 times a week. I see a lot of definition in my legs and my arms. I don't care for the ab routine. I can't seem to get the right form without it hurting my back, so I supplement another program for the abs. The only concern I have with the program is whether it causes varicose veins and spider veins to get worse because you are placing all of your weight on your legs during some of the exercises. I have a problem with vericose veins already and don't need any additional help in this area. Anyone else concerned about this?

GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE. LOTTE BERK METHOD

8 May 2007 - Jaymee of New York, USA writes:

I took classes at the Lotte Berk studio in NYC for years. This method was founded by Lydia Bach, NOT Michelle Austin. I do enjoy the workout, however I prefer the LOtte Berk video set so much more. It flows. TRY IT. It is so much better

Fluidity bar

7 May 2007 - Jean of New Jersey, USA writes:

The Bar was delivered today and I just finished the Beginner workout. Like another reviewer said the workout is based on Bar Method or Callenetics. I always wanted to have a ballet bar so I think I am keeping it. I wonder if anyone here experienced the bar moving? It's pretty stable but when I lean back holding the bar the bar moved a little. It's not THAT stable as in the informercial. I wonder if exercise mat will stabilize the bar better. Anyone has ideas?

Quite a Workout, but Not a Unique One

7 May 2007 - Elle of California, USA writes:

I've done the beginner's workout twice and the seat and thigh once. Each time I am surprised that I break out into a sweat yet I am barely moving 2 inches. The workout is not unique to Michelle Austin. It was originally created by Callan Pinckney in the '80s and it was called "Callanetics." Look it up on Google. Michelle Austin should have given some credit to Callan Pinckney as far as I'm concerned. However, Michelle did take it one step further by having the fluidity bar engineered by MIT grads--a good thing as I wondered in the early 90's where I could get a bar like the one Callan used in her videos. Too soon to make any improvement claims, but will if I see a difference in flexibility and strength.
