Hip Hop Abs-Update

8 Feb 2009 - Helen of PA, USA writes:

UPDATE: Update: Back injury update, the lower right side still sore but now I can finally start doing some light exercises. Please be careful with this program if you have lower back problems, if the back is sore stop doing the workout until you are completely healed.

Great fun & great work out

27 Jan 2009 - rebecca of Northern Mariana Islands, Northern Mariana Islands writes:

I work in an office and many of us are constantly trying to make healthy body changes and look a little HOT. I thought these videos would be a fun activity that could be done at the end of the work day. People drop in and out, but everyone loves it. One 2 of us do it at least 3 times a week. In the first 3 weeks. I lost 1 inch off my waist, 3 inches off each thigh and 1 inch off my hips. I did this while eating five layer chocolate fudge cake for a week of vacation. My co-worker didn't do the diet either and lost 2 inches on her waist, 1 inch off each thigh and an inch off each arm. Pros are that it's fun and relatively easy. Cons are that some of the videos involve jumps. But I just do it low impact and am fine. Shaun is encouraging. I feel generally more confident and sexy. Something about the dancing I guess. We are going to keep at it and incorporate other activities so we don't get bored.

Hip Hop Abs

24 Jan 2009 - Helen of PA, USA writes:

UPDATE: Be careful with this workout if you ever had lower back issues. I've been running for 17 years and haven't had a back injury until I used this product. I injured my lower back to the point where I can't work out. I've done AB work for years so I don't have a weak core. The workouts are fun but not worth the injury.

I like Hip Hop Abs....but....

15 Jan 2009 - Gooby of indiana, USA writes:

I've been using Hip Hop Abs since before Christmas. The first week, I found my back was quite sore (lower) however, that's because you work your entire core and those muscles were obviously weak. Since then, I am getting stronger, but I'm 49 and I have always had to work harder than average to keep my figure. Now I'm finding that Hip Hop Abs is not helping me lose weight and I've only lost an inch around my waist and that fluctuates as I bloat and unbloat! I would LOVE to find an internet site that shows you how to eat like []or [] without having to join either one. Anyone?

Injured my back & had 2 go to physical therapy

20 Aug 2008 - Carmen of TX, USA writes:

It was so much fun but I noticed my whole body was sore and aching horribly, soon after I couldn't even walk or bend, my back was in so much pain. I thought I was just sore but couln't understand why because I run 3 miles a day & did the firm before this so I was in good shape. Turns out the way Shaun T makes you do your ab movement isn't so safe for your back. I was in the most excrutiating pain and had to go for physical therapy for 3 months to correct the problem. Hurt my Sciatic area nerve/notch. My physical therapist said she is leary of Hip Hop Abs due to the movements, you might hurt your back like me. So if you do try it just be careful. I know about body mechanics and am careful b/c I've been trained in body mechanics for massage therapy and i did not see this coming w/this work-out. just be careful. but it was a fun work out which i only did for a week.

Fun workout

13 Aug 2008 - Cynthia of California, usa writes:

This is a fun workout. I just started a few weeks ago and have yet to really find out if it works for me but I enjoy Shaun T. His personality is great, especially when he throws his own style into it. Whether he throws his head back, shakes his shoulders or some other Shaun T flare, its really a good time. Its like the gay friend I never had. The only dissapointment is when all the crew are trained dancers or have been athletically involved for years. I would guess that all those girls never had any children. It makes you want to roll your eyes when Shaun says that you will get these hot abs too. Not so sure for a mom with 3 kids, but okay Shaun. Would actually like to see the real people who used the workout being part of the workout crew. Even if they werent perfect bodied, it gives the rest of us a little more inspiration.

It really works!!!

23 Jun 2008 - Remy of Georgia, USA writes:

I have been using this work out since July '07' and change my eating habit with great results. I was doing it 6 days a week every week for the first 6 months and kept it up the more compliments I got. I now only do it 5 times but have kept my good eating habits and am happy to say I've lost 24 pounds. It really works, you just have to stick with it.

works for me

9 May 2008 - Jennifer of ohio, cuyahoga writes:

I gained 20lbs in 2 years, b/c I just was not taking care of myself the way I should. When I saw this infomercial I thought I'd try it. It's been about 8 months and I lost all of my weight and I keep getting complimented on how toned I look. I'm only on level 1, but I combine the total body burn, ab sculpt and hip hop buns and thighs in each of my workouts. I recommend this product. P.s. to the person who made the comment about the asian woman...there's only 1 in the video...so...?

Good ab workout, so so cardio

4 Mar 2008 - Amy of Saskatchewan, Canada writes:

I found that the ab workout was really good, but the cardio was more suited to beginners. I found it really fun though (love the music), so just rotated the cardio dvd's with others that I already own.

Lost 3 inches first week!

3 Feb 2008 - Kim of Georgia, USA writes:

I have really been enjoying this workout! I love to dance and the strong beat in this workout makes me want to move. Shaun T. is a great motivator! I workout for 1 hour six days a week, cut out the sugar, and increased my vegetable and water intake. After the first week, I lost 1 1/2 inches off my mid abs and 1 1/2 inches off my lower abs. I had previously lost over 80 pounds, but the last 15 pounds have been stubborn. All of the remaining fat was around my middle. Looks like it's finally moving on outta here! I look better and feel better. Just doing the workout makes me feel younger and more energetic I'm over 40). Hip Hop Abs is great!

It's Fun.

14 Dec 2007 - Jhanna of Hawaii, USA writes:

Shaun T. is Hilarious.. I always laugh when he says "Oh, this is my favorite song!." The work out is fun, but I can't get into a full sweat. I KNOW my Abs are getting totally worked though. I guess thats why he calls it Ab Jam. It is good when I am not in the mood to do my Turbo Jam. I LOVE to dance and he makes it fun.

Yes, it really works

16 Oct 2007 - Anonymous of Pennsylvania, USA writes:

Well, I must say at first I was kind of skeptical. I decided to go with my gut feeling and order it! I did the video for the first time yesterday. Wow I felt the burn when I was doing the moves and today my whole body aches (but in a good way). You need to be somewhat coordinated and actually enjoy dancing because that is what you are primarily doing. If you need a quick workout that uses every muscle in the body go head and spring for the DVD's you get three with all different types of workouts targeted to abs, hips, thighs, buns and TOTAL BODY. I will update on my 6th day and see if I actually lost inches like it claims. WISH ME LUCK!

I Like It (So Far)

16 Oct 2007 - Liza of New York, USA writes:

I originally purchased this product in June, I used it for 3 days straight, got tired and stopped. I started using it again this morning so I will update my posting next week. I have to say in the four times I have used it, Shaun T is pretty annoying but it is fun and I do work up a sweat.... Will keep you posted.

Not so Happy

20 Sep 2007 - Betsy of Florida, USA writes:

I have to say is it is a fun work out but I did not see the results advertised on the info-mercial. I understand body types are different but I haven't lost 3 inches on my waist and I have been using this work out for over 3 wks. When does it start to work?

It's great fun end it works!

16 Sep 2007 - Maria of Toronto, Canada writes:

Shaun T is funny and a great motivator. I did the 6 days slim down and lost 6 pounds which is great in such a short time. Keep your abs tighten all through the workout and the results will show. I definitely feel stronger, more energized and can feel my abs again after only 2 1/2 weeks. HHA is fun.

Not for the Advanced Person

14 Sep 2007 - Chantal of Ontario, Canada writes:

I am a very big fan of beachbody programs. I have the SI6, P90, P90X and I think every Turbo Jam workout. So when I saw HHabs I thought it looked pretty good. I would say I was an avid exerciser. 6 days a week I exercise so I would consider myself fit. These workouts are for a beginner. They are fun, the music is good but its a very slow pace and doesn't get your heart rate up. So if you are looking for a workout that you really want to see results and you are already relatively fit...don't chose this one. However if you are overweight and want to get into some form of physical activity, this would be perfect for you. Shaun T is fun and entertaining. Just becareful on the moves that you don't hurt your back with the tilt, tuck cause if not done properly you will hurt yourself.

BEEN THERE FROM THE BEGINNING

6 Sep 2007 - Jackie of Florida, USA writes:

I have had HHA's since Feb. '07 I love the workouts!! It feels like you're dancing. Some of the moves are really cool! I did the 6 day slim down that comes with the package and lost 9 lbs and 7" in only 6 days! (2" off my waist). My posted results are on the message boards on HHA 6 day slim down 2/25/07. I have the first HHA's, and Level 2 (the music isn't as good in L2), and the new Dance Party-which is off the hook!! If you like shankin' yo' thang and hoppin' around, you like it!

You will need more

4 Sep 2007 - Anonymous of Alabama, USA writes:

I finally got around to using the complete set of the Hip Hop Abs. I used the hips, buns, and thighs for months and it worked wonderfully. 1. This is not Hip Hop music. This is pop music with pretend hip hop beats and moves. 2. The moves are not enough to get the heart rate up. The DVD is full of lies due to perception. a. Shaun is sweating but no one else on the DVD is sweating. I wasn't sweating either. This basically means that they must have Shaun under a heat lamp or something to give the illusion you are getting a better workout. b. Most of the women on the DVDs are Asian and it is widely known that Asian woman (before children) have smaller body frames and flatter abs. Where were the real women? 3. The diet (included in the program) and some other exercise is likely the real reason the people got flat abs.
