Lateral Thigh Trainer

I tried the LTT and found it awkward at first.  But once I mastered the movement, learned to lean back confidently, I have managed to lose 10 lbs and 1 inch (in 3 weeks of daily use) in each area (chest, waist, buns and thighs).   Using the LTT, I have also changed my diet which helped.  My sister even commented on how my butt "no longer giggles" and appears to have lifted (which it did, I did the pencil under the cheek test).  Before I started, the pencil stayed put, but after 3 weeks, I couldn't keep the pencil under the cheek!  It works for me.   I'm burning the fat and losing the weight.  FINALLY.

I love my Lateral Thigh Trainer. It is the only thing I have found that actually works. I have spent 1 1/2 hours a day in a gym before and never lost a pound. Now I spend 20 minutes a day on my Lateral Thigh Trainer and I have lost 13 pounds in 2 months. I am 50 pounds overweight and over 40 and had lost hope of ever losing weight again. At first, I couldn't even get through the first 5 minutes of the video without "falling out". Now, I'm going all the way through the first video and the first 5 mintues of the advanced video. Man, that advanced video is tough! But I love it! It works!

I have had my LTT for a couple of months now.  I have both positive and negative things to say about it.  Mostly positive outweigh the negative though.  First the positives: It does work! Doesn't hurt my knees but then again I do not lock them, as instructed. I have noticed toning in the bottom portion of my body, especially since losting 12 lbs in a couple of months. I also add weight lifting and simple toning exercises to my daily exercise routine but always include the LTT for 30-40 minutes every day. It's easy to use, makes you concentrate on your core area by focusing on stabilization, it works your areas quickly, you feel the burn and start to break a sweat in about 15 minutes into the routine (on highest setting.) Ok, now the negative: after awhile it develops a VERY annoying squeak that I can not get rid of (HELP). It's so annoying that I do not use it now even after oiling every part of it. The tension control lever does not stay put in the highest position. It moves by itself to the middle position, making me stop my high intensity workout to have to put it in the highest position. Overall: Would like these kinks worked out before recommending it to others but I really like the machine. It's unfortunate I can not use it now due to the high pitch sqeak.

Have to say have mixed feelings. The counter never worked, but the workout was intense and seemed to hit the legs and rear end well. Like John, it didn't last that long before the resistance device gave up the ghost. At 220 lbs, maybe it was too much for the device. Imagine my surprise when trying to find repair parts! No link to a home site, so guess I will just buy another one...the wife likes it a lot. If this one breaks, I'll let you know (and not buy another one).

Ya I got the lateral thigh trainer after reading these reviews.  I have to say I'm disappointed.  To begin with it's a really un-natural movement.  It's too much left to right rather, than up and down.  And it's your knees that get the grunt of that twist movement, which isn't good.  Second it's not a fluid movement either.  It's really just a chain connecting the two steps that go up and down.  Since your having to change directions going up and down, it's never ever really a fluid movement.  I think any guy, or anyone over 175 pounds, shouldn't really use this.  As you will feel pain in your knees.  As for any one around 130 probably won't feel the pain in their knees.  Atleast that what i'm assuming since all the other reviews are so positive.

Lateral thigh trainer is overall a good easy to use very convienient product. The one flaw I found was that it gets squeaky after awhile.

After reading favorable reviews of the Lateral Thigh Trainer on this site, I decided to purchase one for myself. I have used it three times so far and have been very happy. The machine is a convenient size and is easy to handle. It comes assembled, but you do have to push on the feet which provide stability. The video that comes in the box is helpful and provides many good pointers and tips for getting started. After my workouts, I really feel the burn! My advice would be to give this worthwhile new equiptment a try. And, to the guys like me out there, don't be scared off - you will get a great workout! Works the whole lower body.

Have just lost 16 pounds and although slim felt a bit flabby so ordered the lateral thigh trainer, thinking I'll try if for a couple of weeks and send it back but I'm hooked.  Can definitely see an improvement in my hip and thigh area and legs seem more defined.  Not sure about abs yet though. Would recommend it - Pump up the music and vary your speed in time with the tunes!!!

I just received my Lateral Thigh Trainer and this time, I think my home workout will actually work.  I worked up a sweat 5 minutes into the workout...I added weights and after 20 minutes, I felt the 'burn' of a good workout (and I'm in pretty good shape).  A good substitute for my outdoor walks when it's raining out.  Overall, simple machine, compact and easy to use. Negative: bottom of my left foot aches from the slant of the foot pedal...gotta figure out how to place my foot there without incurring pain.

I NEVER buy things from infomercials, but I'm VERY glad I did this time!!  BUT, I only did it because of all the positive reviews I saw on this site.  SO...it's only fair that I post my opinion for others to see also.  I've had my Lateral Thigh Trainer for about 4 months now and I ALSO watch my diet very carefully....and for the first time in over 15 years, I had to go out and buy some new clothes.  A SIZE TEN!!....from a size 14 in just 4 months!  (YEA!!) It's FUN, it's EASY, it's compact and easy to store or push out of the way...and more.  I just LOVE it!!  BUT....I did not buy the Upper Body Power Cords with it.  You do NOT need them.  I have a set of those exercise bands you can get just about anywhere and center one of them under the front legs of the LTT and it works like a CHARM!!   OR...you can use weights if you prefer. This is an exercise machine I will actually USE (and DO) and not put it in a corner to use as a clothes hanger....as I did with my treadmill after a while.  It's not boring.  It's SO easy to just pop in the video that comes with it OR just put on some jivey music and jump on it for a few minutes.   I use it at least 3 times a day OR anytime I just get BORED!!  I'll just jump on my LTT and get FIT.....you can FEEL it in your thighs and buns.  AND.....if you put an exercise band under the front legs, you get your TOP part fit too.  I am VERY happy with mine and I hope my review helps someone else decide on GETTING one.  I'm SOOO glad I did!! Just signed a slimmer and fitter Shirley from Illinois

I purchased the Lateral Thigh Trainer and returned it 3 days later. I am in good shape and exercise (run, weights, etc) at least 4 times/week. The first time I stepped onto the LTT I knew it was not for me. Although there is a resistance lever, it does not work, or enough for a person who is in shape to notice. Also, although you can ajust the stair height, I really don't think it gives you a good range of motion. Let's put it simply...it won't give you the kind of workout you would expect on a stepper -- sweaty, heart beating, tired workout. I was on the machine for 15 minutes and hardly broke a sweat. If you are in good shape, I wouldn't suggest purchasing it.

I got my LTT last Friday. Imagine my surprise when I realised that the product lived up to the hype! This hardly ever happens. Now I love to put on some uptempo music and boogie away, and it's never boring. If your hands are free, you can do some Tae-Bo moves, use a resistance band to work arms/back, or even read a book! The Power Cords are excellent, they really do work your arms and upper bod. I'm getting hand weights to give my workout added edge, too. I would recommend this product to anyone, it really was money well spent. It's so versatile! The only downside is that it is larger than you might think and quite heavy. Otherwise, if you only buy one piece of equipment, make it this.

24 Aug 2004 - Brenda of North Carolina, USA writes:

This is the worst piece of work out equipment on the market.   It is very hard on the back, and could severely damage someone who is not conditioned. It also could cause back problems.  The footing not stable and all the while while you are on it, you are trying to stablize yourself.  DON'T FALL FOR THE HYPE!!!  It is very overpriced.  Wait until you can pick one up at a garage sale.

I absolutely love the Lateral Thigh Trainer.  I have told at least seven people about it in the last two days.  I have purchased other equipment and was disappointed but not with this!  Thank you!  Thank you!

I received my LTT a month ago and love how it works!  I use it in addition to my regular workout at the gym.  It's easy to set up in front of the TV or in my room and step for an hour! My thighs and buns are certainly getting toned and I will continue to use it.

Highly disappointed in this product! I received the LTT on Thursday evening.  I used it for a few minutes to check it out.  I used it on Friday morning for the recommended 5 minutes.  On Sunday morning while I was using it the top pedal fell to the side.  I turned it over to see what the problem was and found that the chain was broken and the entire mechanism was loose.

I read the previous reviews and thought that the majority of users who had knee problems seemed to be those with a lot to lose.  I have about 20 pounds to lose and walk and run almost everyday, so of course I thought I could handle it.   I got the Lateral Thigh trainer at my local []. After a week on this machine, I thought my knees were going to explode.  After 10 minutes, my feet starting cramping due to the ackward angle you have to have them at.  The only thing I thought it worked was my calves.  By the time the cardio started to take effect, my feet and knees were in too much pain to go on.  I had to return it for a refund.
