I just bought my LTT last week and since reading the reviews am somewhat concerned... Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to prevent the chain from snapping, the resistance lever from sliding around and the annoying squeak from developing??? I'd rather do some preventative maintenance then have to replace the machine later on. So far, it feels great and I am really enjoying using it. It's only been one week but I feel my legs tightening up considerably and I feel energized and great after a workout. I'd hate to have the machine break on me while I'm enjoying it so much!

lets see, i've had this product for a while, about 6 months, and it's not worth the money. At first i was really excited and would put the tape in every day (even though its REALLY boring and Brenda is freaky perky) plus i'd do it in front of the TV. End of the week, no results. my knees hurt, and i have had no knee problems, ever, because i'm young. well, it does work your thighs, but not your butt, and NOT your lower abs at all. And I got bored quickly. They say this thing is fun, but it's not. 2 weeks in and you'll defenitely have regrets about buying it. BIGGEST WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY.

I have had my LTT for about 6 months, and I agree that it is cheaply made. It does give me a good workout though. The first one that I received didn't work at all, because there was something wrong with the resistance disk. I had to return it and the company immediately sent me a new one. In fact, they accidentally sent me two, so I will eventually sell the other one. It squeaks and grinds a lot and the display no longer works, although it probably just needs a battery. It is a good workout, but there are probably a lot of better made products out there.

My gosh!! What are you people doing with this product? I have had mine for over a year, and yes, it is being used, I have not yet experienced any problems with the LTT. My daughter has purchased one also and has had no problems with it what so ever. I can't believe that there are so many of you having problems. I think that it is a quality product. You definitely get a workout. Within minutes I have worked up a sweat. I go to a kickboxing class twice a week, and my legs feel it more with the LTT. I think it does exactly what it claims to, and is worth the money. sorry so many of you have had such bad luck.

I've been working out with the LTT for about 2 weeks now - usually every other day to the video. So far I've been pretty happy with the workout. I can really feel it in my butt and thighs. The video is very dull but makes it easier for me to work out with more intensity. For me the biggest selling point was the portability of the machine. I take it out of the closet, use it, and then it goes right back in. The only problems I've come across are the squeaking noises and the computer thing turns on but will not track anything! Very annoying. I am going to keep my receipt and the box it came in so I can return it without hassle if I have any of the major problems others have listed here.

This product provides a great aerobic workout. However, it is very loud, the tension bar moves to easy, it drops greasy dust on the floor, and my chain broke. I can see past many of the above mentioned issues, however, the company refuses to replace the chain, leaving the product unusable. Be sure to clarify the warranty if you purchase this product.

I purchased my LTT about 6 weeks ago and have been using it every day. I started out slowly (with a pathetic 3 minutes!) and have now worked up to almost 20 minutes. I increase the workout by a minute every few days. I used to run 6 days a week before my twins were born- those days are over! I feel it gives a great workout- increased heart rate, sweating, etc. but mostly it gives you ENERGY!

I bought the LTT in February, on line, I used it almost every day until end of May. I started off at 140lbs and am now 131lbs. The turnbuckle bar snapped and was replaced early April. The computer has stopped working and now it has completely ceased up. The holes into which the tunbuckle bar fit are almost worn through and the new turnbuckle bar is also almost worm through again. I am advised this is unfortunately wear and tear. I love this machine and it is really too bad that it is not better made. Maybe someone out there can make a better job. Oh yeh, it also squeaks - but I have lost inches of my thighs.....Should a #70 machine really only last 4 months??? I don't think so.

I have been lucky I suppose-I purchased this product locally and it has performed beyond my expectations. It was cheaper at our local [] store than on the infomercial. I am losing inches and feeling better than ever. I would like to know where to buy the accessories though-no answer on the 800 line.

I purchased the LTT at [] after seeing the informercial. That same day I took it out of the box and started using it. I used the LTT for about 10 minutes, when the chain broke. I went back to modell's and exchanged it for another one. However the day after when I went to use it - after 30 minutes the chain once more broke. The product is cheaply made and a piece of garbage. I do not recommend this product to anyone, dont waste your money!

I bought mine by mail. There was something the matter with mine from the beginning-have to get on both feet peddles at the same time or it cracks the front of it(my son laughs at me when I get on). It also squeeks after 15 minutes (even after oiling it). I do like the motion of it exercising-just put on some music and lift weights and it is a good aerobicworkout and fun to do. Didn't care for the video.

I ordered it online, received it in a couple of days. I am keep fit fantatic, so I was already in shape. First week, great, did an hour each day, no squeek, but the computer didnt work. Second week, the squeeking started, the steps became sticky and hard to press, the resistance didnt stay put, even after screwing it into position. My knees, ankles and shin hurt, but I persevered, I did notice my thighs getting firmer and buttocks tighter. After the third and fourth week noticed lots of black-like soot coming from the main body. After using this product for a couple of months, the chain suddenly broke whilst I was using it, this could have seriously hurt me, I fell off but managed to grab hold of something before hitting the ground. The product should be checked throughly for long term use, also give advice on inevitable squeeking and make sure the computer works with each step. If you want something that gives you a good thigh and buttock workout but only lasts for 3 months, then go for this, if not, then I suggest look elsewhere for something that will give you benefits for years to come.

I bought this product about a year ago. I'm stationed in Germany so it was mailed and came almost totally assembled. I tried it a few times but it hurt my back, knees and my feet. But I thought maybe I wasn't using correctly so I would try it every so often and found that if you position your 'core' body parts (stomach, lower back area, etc.) in an upright setting and place your feet firmly pushed down on the pedals then there is virtually no pain. But I really didn't use it on a consistent basis until in recent months after I saw another one of their infomercials and decided to do it at the same time. Now I use it about 3-5 times a week and sometimes twice a day in addition to going to the gym about 3 times a week for cardio variety. I find that since I started using it that my legs are shrinking and my hips & butt are firming up, and this if after going to the gym for 3 months 5 times a week using their machines but not seeing as much difference. Maybe this thing just works differently with the way it's design, because I can definitely feel it in my hips. When I use 3lb hand weights for upper body in conjunction w/lower body, I get really sweating like a pig. It's great and never boring! I feel this is the best $100 that I have ever spent on an exercise machine, when I used my treadmill in the past, I never got the same results. I noticed today the counter doesn't work because I know I was on for at least 40 mins but it only showed 29 mins. It also squeaks but it comes and goes and isn't really that loud if you are jiving to music or watching TV. It seems pretty sturdy to me and I'm a little over 200 lbs, so I would recommend this especially to women who have the same problems areas as I do!!

I bought the thigh trainer in January 2005, used if roughly 3x/week up until this week (April 25,2005), because the last time I used it the plastic housing broke and the right step came out of its socket, causing my right side to tilt. I weigh 135 pounds, so I'm within the weight capacity. I' m disappointed and feel cheated out of my money. Made in China!! Go figure!!

I was also excited about the LTT. Since I've started using the machine in Jan. I've noticed results, but as of April 28 the chain broke and like the rest of you, I am very disapointed. From reading the comments, I'm not sure if I should evan try to get it fixed or not.

I bought the lateral thigh trainer over 6 months ago. It has worked well for me and has assisted in firming my thighs. The pedometer counter stopped working almost immediately. However, I have found that my workout on the LTT is better than my treadmill. I dislike the video and would prefer a cd. The time period required to workout on the thigh trainer is greatly reduced from the treadmill. Additionally, I have seen greater results from the LTT. Ultimately, it is much better than sitting on the couch.

This is a great machine...purhased it 3 months ago lost 38 pounds. I must say that this machine is cheaply made ad prone to damage if purchase through the mail. I got it from a local sporting store and had no problems...my friend got hers through the mail and it arrived damage thanks to UPS and the fact that it is so poorly made, but she now uses mine and she lost 15 pounds in 1 month....so she is buying her own from a local sporting good store. I love this machine just 20 more pounds to go. I agree that for 100 dollars you should never have to use rope, glue, prop the machine up....overall I recommend it I'm up to an hour a day...get it from a store...if the machine is not damaged it works...

My wife received her thigh trainer 3 days ago on 04/06/05 thru [], it came brand new and she has been using in for 30-40 minutes a day, she has lost 3lbs in 3 days and absolutely loves it. We are infomercial buyers and other than the George Foreman grill I must say WOW this product really works, my wife went and told all of her friends about the thigh trainer and they will be placing orders next week!!

I used the LTT steadily for six weeks. Did not have any weight loss but could see the toning in my leg muscles. However, I too ran into the lever problem. It shifts from "Fast" with my right leg to "Slow" with my left. Very frustrating -- I'd like my legs to be somewhat symmetrical. Customer service was nice but totally useless. Suggested I return it to [] where I bought it. I think I'll just try the string trick and tie the lever down. I would definitely hesitate to recommend this to anyone unless the manufacturer does an overhaul on the machine.

I bought the Lateral Thigh Trainer one week ago, it was pretty easy to get used to, I started off slow since I was new to exercising, and after a couple of times of using it, I actually looked forward to using this every morning. After 5 times using it, 20 minutes a day, I noticed that the resistance knob was unable to stay tightened, then the front bar literally snapped off on the left side!! Also, 2 springs fell off as well. I didn't realize how cheaply made this was. I am 160 lbs., so I am in the correct weight range to use this product. I returned it and got my money back.. I am too afraid that another one would break while I was using it and I would get seriously injured. Thanks, but NO thanks!!! not recommended.
