Leptoprin is the first product designed specifically for the significantly overweight by helping to overcome the genetic link to obesity. First, significantly overweight people have a genetically-based tendency to store excess dietary calories as body fat. Leptoprin helps overcome this tendency by effectively increasing the body's ability to destroy calories in specialized "wasting cycles" within fat, muscle, liver and other body cells. Second, Leptoprin dramatically interferes with the process of converting calories to fat. Third, Leptoprin exerts a profound "lipolytic" action it "mobilizes" stored fat, moving it out of the fat cell and thereby reducing the size of the fat cell mass.(Source:leptoprin.com)

I have used this product for months. During that time I have experience severe (very severe) muscular pain in my legs which subsides when I take the medication. The pain is less common with lower doses. I may have lost 7 or 8 pounds but fear muscle damage

I noticed NO results at all, although I used it faithfully, per directions. It was an expensive lesson.

I lost 12 pounds in the first week but I have been feeling real high! I haven't had any swelling or stomach pains but I have had to urinate frequently. I have had no trouble sleeping. On the contrary,I am sleeping more than usual but I do have a very "high" feeling all the time.

Well I have been taking leptoprin for almost a month now, and have lost over 10 pounds with it. My appetite from the time I started taking it has gone down severly and my energy level has increased. I don't really have trouble sleeping, but do find it alittle harder to fall a sleep sometimes. I have been out of work for over 6 months with an injury and gained over 40 lbs. Since I started taking leptoprin the scale doesn't always read acuratly, but I can tell it's working by the amount of stretch marks that have appearred on my stomach.

I took this product and lost twenty five pounds in a month and a half. I used this product along with drinking six glasses of water a day (approximately 1 liter) which makes you frequently urinate (that's a good thing) I also paired this with the eight minute in the morning Jorge Cruise diet. The product did keep me up at night if I took it after a certain time but I was informed by the customer representative not to take it after 5p.m. and that the pills work best if paired with diet and exercise. I also sent all questions that I had to someone who has had great success on the leptoprin diet (he lost over 100 pounds) I just wanted to say that you can't expect to get weight loss in a pill and not do anything else. It is to be taken with important life changes and exercise, something that we should be doing anyway. Everything is not for everyone especially medication so all side effects will be different. The only time that I had stomach pains or dry mouth is if I didn't drink the required 6 glasses of water a day with the medication (at least 6 glasses!

Be careful when taking this product. When I first began, it gave me the "happy feeling" for the first two or three days in addition to my energy levels being somewhat elevated. However, a few days into the program I felt the same as if I hadn't been taking anything. I decided to try the product for at least six weeks eventhough I hadn't lost any weight. After the six weeks were up, I decided not to waste any more money and stopped taking the pills. Holy cow, I started getting terrible headaches and neck pain. It took about 5 days to come out of it. I realize this product will affect people in different ways, but please take my situation into account. I am in my mid-30's and an avid low-carb eater - yet somehow ended up gaining weight with this product. Good luck with your own experiences.

Tried Leptoprin for laughs. As it turns out it is a laughable product. It isn't even worth $1.53. I used the bottle and changed nothing in my lifestyle. I did not lose the urge to eat and did not feel like doing any exercise than normal. What is this really supposed to do. I'd have figured it is a placebo, but read that many raters seem to have allergic reactions. Thumbs down!

I purchased this product for $153.00. It was a terrible investment. I took the pills for one month with no weight loss. I felt sick the whole month. I would not try any weight loss products again even though I really need to lose weight and am having a difficult time of it. I have decieded to accept that I am a overweight person and to stop punishing my self for it by subjecting my body to produducts that only reduce my bank account and may cause me physical harm.

The ads state that the product is "too powerful and too expensive" for the casual dieter. Words that drew me in. I should have known it was a great marketing strategy. Leptoprin made me and my husband very nervous, I feared we would have a heart attack. It did nothing for our appetites. It's like drinking 20 cups of espresso. I won't take it again and neither will my husband. For a lot less we bought the South Beach book and lost quite a bit of weight. If someone were to really invent a miracle diet pill, we would have heard about it on the news, not an infomercial.

I'm about 1/2 way through my first bottle. For one week I've experienced severe tingling in my lips and tongue. After reading some of these reviews, I'm thinking I'm allergic to this product. I have noticed a decrease in appetite. I have also noticed an increase in thirst. I have not lost any weight. I will not take any more...just in case I am allergic.

I bought this stuff over 3 months ago and I have changed my diet and started exercising (walking 4 times per week, 2 hours at a time). Needless to say, I don't think it is the Anorex that is helping me to lose the weight! Being a second year nutrition student at my local college, I can tell you that there is absolutely NOTHING in this product that helps you lose weight! Thinning of your blood and possible liver damage/kidney failure YES! I bought one bottle of Anorex SF/Leptoprin over the internet to show my teacher and she was flabbergasted at what the manufacturer would try to sell you for $153 a bottle! She said it was "suicide in a bottle." And I completely agree.

I started Leptoprin on Oct 11, recomemeded dosage til the 14, started to break out in hives on the 15th, went to the hospital ER on the 16th and one day at home then back to the ER ICU for severe hives, eyes swollen shut, covered most of my body, doctors said I could have come down with a allergic reacation to the ingredients in Leptoprin, because after all other blood tests they took came up with nothing else. I do not recomend this product to anyone.

I have been using this product, the Anorex version, for over a year. I lost almost 60 pounds in the first 3 months and then stopped losing weight. I tried the Leptoprin brand, but found no difference except the price! If I stop taking the product I start gaining weight. I love this product. I wish I was losing more weight, but the side effect of this product is that I only sleep 4 hours a night. Blood pressure is down. No other side effects.

I just tried Leptoprin and after 3 days had to go to my doctor because I woke up at 5am with my face and neck so swollen that I could not even smile. My eyes were so swollen I could not even see. My skin was tight, it hurt and I was miserable. After taking Benadryl for 2 days the swelling has started to go down, but now I have hives and a horrible itch and rash all over my neck and face. This product does not work and is a complete waste of money. When I phoned customer service to get a complete ingredient list for my doctor, I was given the "run-around" and treated like it was my fault. I can't wait to see if I get a refund.

Leptorprin is advertised on late night -early morning cable infomercials. This product cost $153.00. Similar products they sell are Relacore which is one third the price. None the less, this product has a money back guarantee of 7-1o business days if it does not work. Little to say I am waiting for my money. Serious side effects were frequent urination and hesitancy....be very careful of this stuff, I started to have pain in my kidneys and stopped immediately. This product has asprin in it and should be avoided unless you check with your doctor. It does not work!
- Larissa of New Hampshire, USA writes:
I bought a 3 month supply of this product....although I havent seen dramatic results like the infomercial says....I had a complete decrease in appetite...almost to the point where i could go all day without eating and not feel hungry....that was kinda scary so I decreased the amount i took....i just recently incorporated a healthy diet and excersize program and have already started seeing results....the product isnt as magnificent as it boasts but it does decrease appetite.

I've been taking Leptoprin for 10 days now, and I'll admit I had the "jitters" for the first 2 days. After that, my energy level shot through the roof, and my clothes began to fit differently (better, looser). I have lost 8 pounds in 10 days, and I can actually see the difference in my body composition. Prior to taking Leptoprin, I had tried EVERY diet on the market, including spending over $7,000 at a weight loss clinic. This stuff works! I do find that I am thirstier than before, but that's good because I never drank more than 2 or 3 glasses of water per day, and now, I drink close to 7.
