Tony is Great

19 Jun 2008 - Kay of Fairfield, CT, USA writes:

I purchased P90X about 4 months ago. I did pretty well the first month but I slacked off significantly because it is almost impossible for me to work out consistently 6-7 days per week because of my haphazard schedule. The workouts were challenging bu not at all as intimidating as they made it seem in the infomerial. The Yoga is the hardest thing I ever did. I still haven't made it thorough the whole thing once. There are moves that I can't do.. and I decided to follow his lean program because his regular outline is for guys because it focuses a lot on the upper body. as a woman, I need more help in the lower body. I did see some results and my overall cardio conditioning improved. I loved kempo Karate and Plyometrics. The Ab routine is world class. I own a ton of workout dvds and in home programs including [] and I could go on. None of these programs have given me enough results to keep me motivated long enough to achieve my goals. Tony Horton's P90X is the only program that has given results in a few weeks to make me want to get up and try again and push myself to see what I can really do. I need to lose 25lbs and I feel confident that I can do it. I am starting with Tony again next week. I will give an update after 90 days!

GREAT

21 May 2008 - Lisa of Franklin, TN, US writes:

Love it. Love Tony. Love the workouts. Love the food program. Love it all! I've been overweight all my life. Not athletic at all. Hate exercising. I've been doing P90X for 40 days with my husband and I ALMOST look forward to working out. This is huge. Tony is the best! I feel like all of the "peeps" are family in my living room. My husband is seeing more results than I am right now, but I know they are coming for me. I feel differences in my muscles and have lost 2" from my waist, but I'm so encouraged to continue - and it's because of Tony and how this program is designed. If I can do it - anyone can do it! Some workouts I still can't fully complete, but it's ok because I "do my best and forget the rest!" Improvements have and will continue to come!

Be ready to work really hard

30 Apr 2008 - Chris Turner of UT, USA writes:

I have a client who was actually a contest winner with Power90 who turned me on to this. He helped get me hooked up with the DVDs, the pull-up bar and the bands. I did the pull up bars on my own first for 6 weeks along with some push ups, running, then started the program. Glad I did some prep work, because without it, this might have been too much for me(39 years old). With it, it still was borderline too tough. But I have stuck with it, and after 3 weeks, it is getting easier to do the workouts. They still kick my butt, but I am getting stronger, more flexible and have more endurance. As for Ab Ripper, be prepared to not be able to do much at first, but if you stick with it, you will see improvements. I consider it money well spent, and plan on sticking with it after the initial 90 days. Have major surgery approaching (kidney transplant) and need to be fit for recovery. But even with the kidney problems, this has worked great for me. Money well spent.

It works

30 Apr 2008 - Robert of ontario, Canada writes:

If you use the product as designed it will work. That means diet too! I got ripped in 90 days, although I was not in bad shape to begin with. This product took me to the next level.

Love the workout - not so much Tony

13 Feb 2008 - Willie of Washington, USA writes:

First off, I'm in love with the workouts in this program. I don't do the Keno or Yoga but replace those days with Plyo-X instead. I have totally seen a difference in my appearance (as has my wife) and actually look forward to getting home to workout these days. Tony annoys the stuffing out of me. (good thing that on the DVD I have the opption to just have his cues given instead of hearing him yabber on and on and on). Does the guys mouth ever stop????? NOPE it doesn't. I hope that being a personal trainer doesn't come with the mandate of being a egotistical jerk, because as I get closer and closer to my own certification, that is one thing that I will not allow myself to become. If I had a word of advise for the Beachbody people it would be this. Tell Tony to shut his trap a little more. WW

Excellent program

10 Jan 2008 - Matthew of Florida, USA writes:

In short, excellent program. Honestly, my results have been about 50% of the results shown in the commercial, but that's probably because I've been doing the program only about 3 day a week instead of the recommended 6. Instead of doing 6 days a week for 3 months, I've averaged 3 days a week for 6 months. I was already in decent shape when I started, and with the program I lost 10 pounds and gained strength and definition. I'm convinced that if I could dedicate 6 days a week I would get much better results. I think the program is designed to provide maximum results in a short period of time, but I'm using it as a long-term program instead and I'm very happy with it. Also, the intensity and variety has really helped me, maybe psychologically, through a difficult separation. I highly recommend it, 6 days a week if you can, or modified if you can't.

Worth a try

7 Dec 2007 - Maria of New York, USA writes:

I have been training for over 20 years. Although I understand muscle confusion and how to incorporate it on my own, I like to take a program and follow it every now and then just to mix things up in a different way. I have chosen to use most of the program at the gym and not at home. As a woman, I am able to use the assisted pull-up machine for that part of the program and this has worked well. The only place where I have really changed things up a bit is for the leg training - as a dancer I am not a fan of lunges and that is primarily what you can do at home -I follow the superset with other muscle groups but switch out the exercises to use those that taret the muscle group the program tries to hit (e.g. glutes vs hams, etc) and this worked. Have seen very good results but anyone wanting to use this should keep in mind that this is more for a long-time fitness enthusiast but not a beginner. Give it a go.

Excellent

5 Dec 2007 - Jerry of - -, Trinidad and Tobago writes:

I don't follow the program step by step but I am seeing great results! I am starting to see the 'rip' that they are talking about. The nutrition guide has help me alot with my eating habits. I know what to eat and what not to eat and also when to eat. I am not sure about the Recovery drink. I dont take it. This may sound funny but I usually take some dextrose and eat a handful of raisins after workout, with some whey. I give this program 5 stars. I dont go to the gym any more and this is great for people who are strapped for time, almost all of the workouts are 1 hr You need the chin up bar. I had to buy that separate thinking I didn't need it, but there are two back routines and you need the bar. I got the DVDs used [] You can get each program individually, but that doesn't make sense. Buy the full program. You must try this program if you are serious about fitness! J.

A great program, but you can hurt yourself

26 Nov 2007 - Dale of California, USA writes:

I have never been muscular, and until recently never had a lot of muscle tone. But after visiting the doctor's office, I was told to lose weight, exercise, and start eating healthier (Sound familiar, anyone?). I used another program to lose weight, made dietary changes, and got a very basic level of muscle tone. Then I saw a P90X infomercial and thought I, too, could be 'ripped' in 90 days. After checking out some of the testimonials on line, I purchased the system in August 2007 [] (saved $$ vs buying it direct through []). I am currently in the last week of the program. It was incredibly difficult to start (I could only do one pull-up at day 1). The tendency is to push and push to get faster results. I pulled a muscle in my right shoulder which is still on the mend 3 weeks later. One key is keeping good form. It's easy to try to squeeze an extra rep, only to end up straining a muscle doing it. The exercise bands are good for some moves, not so good for others. The P90X chin-up bar is a must have, as opposed to a typical single pull-up bar in the doorway. Today, day 86 of the 90 day program, I can do 10 pull-ups (my goal was 20, but perhaps that was too optimistic). My abs are hard as a rock. I don't have a six-pack yet, but there is signs of some definition. My advise to anyone attempting this program is to do the fit test first, a free download available at [] This will let you know where you stand. Loking back on it, I propably could have started with a less aggressive program, like Power 90. I'm happy to have made it through the program, and look forward to starting my 2nd round in mid-December. Finally, the on-line support, message boards, online workout buddies, meal planning, including shopping lists, make this program much easier to stay motivated with and do every day. Plus they offer a 30 day money back guarantee, which is pretty cool.

PAINFUL, I HATE IT, BUT I LOVE IT

5 Nov 2007 - corey of Tennessee, USA writes:

This DVD series is not for the faint of heart at all, well I pretty much have strong lower body strength so I do not use the DVD’s for legs, but the chest and back DVD, then the arms and shoulders, and the abs is real intense, these sets , is SO ^&(& hard, I mostly run 3 to 5 miles after weights but after working out to these DVD’s my body was telling me don’t even think about running you have done more than enough, And this DVD actually showed me how weak I was, because anyone can lift weights, but not everyone can pull your own body weight, I suggest anyone who is not use to push ups and pull ups, needs to practice before using this DVD set, because you will probably throw up or faint lol, but the chest and back, arms and shoulder, and abs, is a killer,

P90X - read this

4 Oct 2007 - James of Minnesota, USA writes:

I'm a triathlete (1/2 ironman distance), I wanted to try something for some strength and flexibility in the off-season and gave P90x a try. I don't follow infomercials or hype at all so I was skeptical. This program is excellent. Tony is a good instructor (not pompous or obnoxious, just fun and informative; not some psycho gung-ho animal yelling at you) and he's working his tail off while you do - e.g. preaching what he's teaching. I started out and stuck with it for Phase 1. No lie, I could not complete all the routines. but the progress I made between weeks 1 and 3 was noteable. I'm 38 so my body is not a 17-year old's where strength gains are going to be easy. However, i refuse to let me money get pissed away with this purchase so I'm sticking it out for Phase 2 now. In conclusion: Am I satisfied w/my purchase - definite yes.

It Works

3 Oct 2007 - Jimmy of Michigan, USA writes:

Currently on day 45 and am thrilled with the results. I don't really follow the diet plan they provide but I do think I eat pretty healthy without it. I did have to adjust my diet a little (Eat more) so I did not crash during the workouts. I was also a skeptic about the recovery drink at first. But after the first few workouts I was so soar I could hardly get out of bed. I went online to see what could be done about this. I read some info on recovery drinks and how they help with soar muscles so I bit the bullet and ordered it. It does make a difference. The workouts are hard and it is a big commitment but it is so worth it. I wish I had done this long ago.

Love, Love, Love Power 90X

12 Sep 2007 - Jenise of Maryland, USA writes:

I love Power 90X….I’m female and 46 yrs old, I’ve been working out with home video tape for years. Some of my favorites are Karen Voight-Energy Sprint (1.5hrs), The Firm Series,Cathe Videos and Tabo just to name a few. I’ve always been in decent shape but was looking to go to the next level. Well Power 90X is it…..it's not for the faint at heart. Power 90X is a series of 12 DVD’s. This series will give you a total body workout, Tony takes care of everything, he tells you what to do and when to do it. He also includes different people in each tape. No time to get bored, your too busy trying to keep up. I look forward to working out with these tapes everyday.Power 90X is the single best home fitness training videos on the market today. These tapes are timeless, I give them a 5 out of 5 stars.

Weight loss and Strength

26 Aug 2007 - Mark of Mississippi, USA writes:

I saw P90X on an infomercial and ordered this to drop weight and increase core strength for marathon training. I injured my calf in training for my 4th marathon and needed something to do while laying off running. I just finished my third week and have lost ten pounds and am noticing increased strength and muscle definition. Is this doable? Yes! I have been able to do most of the routines or adapt them for my situation. I lost my left hand at age nine and with the bands, I am able to simulate a "quasi pull-up" and work my left chest (side that hand is missing). The cardio and strength training actually improved my cardio and core strength and yesterday I was able to complete a 20 miler after a 4 week lay-off (slow for sure) from running without too much loss in fitness. I will run the Chicago Marathon in October healthier, stronger, and lighter!

tough program

17 Aug 2007 - Greg of California, USA writes:

this is a pretty tough program, even for those in good shape. I started this after not improving much from my usual routines. In my 7th week now and have seen some decent gains (after not making improvements after a year and half of weightlifting and running 4-5 days a week). the 90 day thing is not realistic though for most - overtraining is a real issue here and is probably more like 120 days to get through the program. otherwise the dvds have different/weird but very inventive and challenging routines. NOT for the feint of heart.

Whoa! Tough Stuff!

1 Aug 2007 - Micheal of Arkansas, USA writes:

I bought this program a few weeks ago and I have to say it's definitely serious. The fit test alone that you have to take before you can start the program was hard for me. I'm only on phase one, and I can't yet do pullups without standing on a chair, but I'm already feeling better and getting a little stronger in my legs and chest. (Eating healthy food immediately makes you feel a lot better, trust me!) The plyometrics workout is probably the toughest, but after you've done it a few time it gets easier. I've heard so many people say how amazing their results are after they finish the program, that I'm truly excited to see where the next several weeks take me. Anyways, these workouts are really hard, but anyone who sticks with them is bound to look and feel better after 90 days. Bring It!

"5... 4... 3... 2..."

26 Jul 2007 - Rob of Michigan, USA writes:

"5... 4... 3... 2..." I tried this product a year ago. Since I began working at home, I looked into finding a workout I could do at home. Let's say, thankfully, I did not cancel my gym membership. The workout routine is pretty tough, however, I got bored with it.

Power 90x is the real deal

23 Jul 2007 - William of Texas, USA writes:

Ah ,yes I too am a skeptic when it comes to DVD workouts,Infomercial machines and over hyped routines. I just bought the Power 90x DVD system and after a few workouts I feel it is what it promises -a hardcore workout regime that gets good results! After 15 minutes I am worn out and sore for a few days -what a good burn you get .I have had Bowflex,Total Gym but this is way better .
