I have done one full round of P90X and had GREAT success!!! Since my full round I have continue to include all of Tonys strenght training workouts to my routine! Tony is one the the MOST sincere instructors around. I don't know why someone would say he is annoying in anyway. He has this way to get you pumped up to do just one more rep! As far as leaving the number of reps up to you, he does and for a VERY good reason! If you want to build bulk, he teaches you to do low reps, if you want long lean muscles he teaches you to do more reps. It's all about the type of body you wish to have! That's the great thing about P90X. You can tailor it to your OWN SPECIFIC needs! Tony even takes the time to attend fitness camps. He meets one on one with the people buying his videos. How many people with "hundreds" of videos can actually say that about their videos? To me, it just sounds like someone is [] program successful because in no way is P90X not designed to be successfull for ANYONE who is willing to give 100%. If you are trying to decide to buy...DO IT!! And be ready to BRING IT!!! Thank you Tony Horton for creating such a fun filled, total body workout program!

P90X is very comprehensive, including nutrition, cardio, strength, flexibility, and recovery.  The packaging is superb - all CD's come in a well-designed case.  The guidebooks are very top quality and informative.  But the new gym made up to look like an "old gym" is very cheesy and the workouts are just ok.  Too much personalization and decision-making required for my tastes.   It's one thing to modify moves for your own needs.  But here, the user is left to design much of the workout on their own from equipment choice, pace, number of reps. etc.  Why do I need the DVD?  And I know others love him, but Tony Horton is the MOST annoying instructor I have encountered in any workout DVD or Tape, and I have HUNDREDS.  He's obnoxious - from making lawnmower noises (literally) to poor cuing - if he said "Bring It" one more time I thought I would scream.  I don't think I can stomach hitting "play" again.  I'll just do the exercises and read through the book on my own.

I have been doing power 90X for over a month, and absolutely love it.  It is very hardcore, and some of the workouts I find much more challenging than others. Tony's enthusiasm and sense of humor are fantastic.  You have to love the guy.  I am having problems with the Yoga, though, even though I took yoga classes for a long time.  It is pretty advanced, but so is the rest of the DVD's.  At some point I will be able to do all the exercises, and by then I should be even more ripped.  The Power 90X workouts are not for beginners.  Great, great stuff if you want a challenge.
