Great workout

6 Jun 2008 - Jackie of FL, United States writes:

I got the pilates gym in February and the results are amazing. I'm a stay at home mom with 2 kids 4 and 16 months. So my time is limited for working out. The most I used it was 3 times a week and I probably only did that once or maybe twice. The rest of the time I use it twice a week and I can see and feel the difference. I've been stopped a few times while shopping by complete strangers. And they want to know what I've done to lose the baby fat. Obviously eating well is important but my work out only consists of the pilates gym right now. I'm a true believer and would recommend it to anyone who is looking to tone and lose weight.

Best home workout!!

23 Apr 2008 - Leslie of MI, US writes:

I've had the Pilates Power Gym for a couple months and am loving it! It's great for someone on the go & trying to stay fit. I have a gym membership but trying to squeeze it in with work and school was hard. This thing has been great & I'm seeing results. I really enjoy the workout & it's low impact, so with arthritic joints since I was young, this machine is great for me! So far I haven't fallen off the wagon because it's relaxing while also an intense workout.

Warning Replacement parts

19 Apr 2008 - Trevor of ON, Canada writes:

I've tried calling twice and emailed twice(www.FitnessQuest.com)to replace the broken Long Cable cord of the machine, which doesn't work without it. One operator told me the machine I have isn't the real Pilates Power Gym, and another was very helpful and tried to find the part. It seems a major part of the machine doesn't have a code to replace the part. So the wrong part was sent, guessing it was the right part. It's been two months and still waiting for help.

Buyer beware! Compact can mean too small

8 Apr 2008 - John of MA, US writes:

This seemed the answer to our problem. An effective compact work out machine. However as I did both workouts I found that the "compactness" was a major problem. I could complete some but not all of the exercises because I "hit" the hard stop on the machine (nowhere left for it to slide). I was very disappointed. I was nowhere near full extension. I spent time seeing if I could sit differently to give me more space but nothing worked. I am 200lbs, 5"10" with a 34" sleeve so I am not a giant. I know form is important so I made sure I was following the instructors carefully. But nothing worked. I do not know how they claim people up to 6' 3" can use this. I had to send it back --- $55 out of pocket.

Not worth it!!!

15 Mar 2008 - KD of IL, USA writes:

We bought this today from one of our local sporting goods stores for $300. It is a piece of junk. Very unstable. Cords do not move smoothly & jerk around. Footstraps don't stay on (they're velcro). I am not overweight at all, but the board was still narrow & I didn't feel very safe on it. To raise or lower the whole board, you have to maneuver it through the base, which isn't easy to do. It's annoying putting your head through the supports - hair gets stuck no matter what you do, and the supports make you feel just awkward. You can do the same exercises on the Total Gym, and then some. So, we'll be dusting that off & using it instead. This is going back to the store. Very disappointed:(

LOVE IT!

15 Feb 2008 - Kathy of Idaho, USA writes:

My entire family uses this machine! Very versatile for almost anyone. It is a very compact machine, but fits us all perfectly. My family ranges from 5' to 6' tall. I am a pilates nut, and this machine is awesome! My husband and son are in to the strength training. Definately get the push up bar, because it has the foot bar which is a necessity! Great machine!

Pilates Power Gym works!

23 Jan 2008 - Laura of Washington, USA writes:

I agree that the gym is a bit narrow if you are not overly obese this should not affect you. As far as resistance goes if you raise the carriage you'll get a lot more than 60 pounds out of the machine. I've had the gym for about a month and I use it 4-6 times a week. I've seen some great results and overall improvement of tone in my body. The dvd has two workouts on it, one for strength and a regular pilates work out, both workouts are decent. There are many other reformer dvd's out there, however because this reformer is unique in it's shape it may be difficult to find a dvd that works with it. Overall I enjoy this product and would recommend it to anyone looking to tone up.

I like it!

20 Nov 2007 - Ucho of Minnesota, USA writes:

I just bought this 2 weeks ago and I like it so far. It is very compact and light weight that I can carry it to anywhere (my apt has hardwood floor and it glides smoothly without any scratching). For the storage, I just put this away under the accent table (42 X 22) with horizontally covered with tablecloth in the living room. I am 5 feet 2 (135 lbs) and feel fit me well but I am sure it is not for those very tall or heavy, I guess. Hope this helps.

Hope you are a slender prior to usage

7 Sep 2007 - Anonymous of California, USA writes:

Just received my pilates power gym. So far I see two things that need to be improved. First, the back pad and therefore the entire system needs to be wider. My husband laughed when we pulled it out of the box. I was lucky that both of my butt cheeks fit comfortable on it. Second, the resistance bands only go up to 58.899 lbs max resistance. It should be higher for advanced consumers. I would say atleast 75 lbs in resistance weight. I haven't really used it but I know that the shoulder exercises showed on the commercial were not shown in the manual book? But, on a good note, looks like I can try to be creative all on my own.
