I purchase the cheap ab belt first and it didnt do anything for me.  The first week, it worked fine and then I found that I was changing batteries often and that the intesensity was getting weak.  Thank god they had a 30 day trial, I returned it and exchanged it for the RIO and when I put it on and started using it, I knew this was the one.  In 3 months my belly was flat.

i've had rio ab belt for a while and being a bit chubby after child birth I decided to try it. I've never been one for excercise and felt embarrassed at the gym in front of people who looked fantastic.I've never been one for gimmicky quick fixes either, but this ab belt is like a full on ab workout. My ab muscles are already a lot stronger after just a few weeks, and i can already start to see the beginnings of a six pack above the belly button. I suffer from back pain as well as a result of childbirth and it has helped ease that as well. I fully recommend this product. It actually does what it says it will, even tho it may take a little longer than going to a gym. well worth the wait in my opinion, plus you can wear the belt and be doing other stuff as well at the same time.

Ok, I have had this product for over a month now and I see absolutely no results. I used this on my lower and upper abs about 5 days a week for a pretty lengthy time since I purchased it and I see no results. I have a flat stomach already so this product should of worked faster on me to firm it up if it really does work. I probably should of returned it because I had 30 days to try it. But maybe it takes a few months to work. If not then my loss. So I will keep on trying it and if it works I'll write another review saying it works, if not then I'll write a really bad one.

We bought another product that is out there right now and after three months we threw it away. We took another chance on the Rio belt and after three months we not only have a better and more durable product, we also have a ab belt that works. It really delivers what it promises.

I have only had this ab belt for about two weeks and since my abs are sort of flat I haven't noticed a huge difference in the shape of my waist. However when I flex my muscles I can finally see them starting to come through and I have never seen that on my stomach before. I also love this product because unlike the other products out there that tone your abs this one has nothing else to buy. Some of the other ones you have to buy new pads ever three months and that can get expensive. This rio ab belt has rubber pads that will last forever and the only thing you have to buy is the gel to apply to the pads and a battery about every 10 hours. The battery is a 9V battery which are no more than two dollars each compared to the other products that have watch batteries that can range between $5-$20 each and that also gets expensive. So I feel it you would love to get great looking abs with no sweat and in about 30 min to 1 hour a day (doing anything you want) this is the way to go.

I have had the rio ab belt for two days now. I think it is great. It is comfortable and easy to use. The vibrations feel a little silly at first but after 10 minutes I don't even know I'm wearing it.

I did a lot of research on the web about ab belts and after comparing them all. I ordered the Rio Ab belt. I chose it because of the 9v battery and the fact it didn't have the expensive foil backed belt that everyone says doesn't last long. It arrived today and I am impressed with the quality of it's construction. It is easy to clean the gel off of it and I don't see any part that would wear out. It has a lot of "bite" if you turn it upenough. We'll see how it works in a couple weeks and I will write again.

The product really works. I have been using it for a week now, and the results are slowly coming. I used to be an athletic trainer and we would use more expensive systems to prevent atrophy of muscle during an injury. The belt is quality made and the only replacement parts are the battery and the gel. I have not had any soreness, however I don't think any of my athletes used to get sore anyway. If you are slim or slightly overweight (and be honest with yourself) this product may help get those abs you are looking for.

Well, I purchased my Rio Ab Belt 3 days ago because this one doesn't wear out at all. I really enjoy having it on...the only thing is...the belt is too long to go on my arms, because I wanted to tone everything, not just my mid-section, but if I can see results in THREE days not even, I can't wait to see what my stomach will look like in a month. I will keep posting. I recommend this product to everyone that doesn't want to have to buy a new belt every month.

The gadget is promising only if the conductive pads were made in a more refined manner. One of the pads has the holes too far apart. The other one has one of the wholes too big to fit into any of the connections well.

I kept watching numerous commercials with the ab toning belts and couldn't decided which one to pick. I was convinced that the idea behind those product must work! I mean, electric stimulation *does* cause a muscle to contract, that is fact. To be absolutely certain I waited for a friend of mine to buy the AbTronic and, yes, he confirmed this. Myself, I decided to get the Rio Ab Belt because 1) it was using a regular 9V battery 2) it was supposedly sturdier and well made (rubber pads as opposed to neoprene) 3) it was slightly cheaper than others. When I switched it on for the first time, I didn't feel a thing but that's due to the fact that it's set to the lowest intensity by default. After pushing the "+" button several times, I felt how the product works. Initially, it felt a bit weird and actually unpleasant but then after a few minutes and increased intensity level I got used to that. Now, I've only owned this belt for 2 days now, so I don't know how effective it is but I hope for the best. I must admit that I've been working out for over a year now with some good results but also gained some fat around my belly due to unbalanced diet ...and I hate doing crunches. In conclusion, I'd like to state that this product seems to be quite solid. I already came up with an idea how to deal with the battery problem, should Rio Ab Belt drain them quickly (said to be good for 10hrs of use). There are universal AC adapters out there which come with a 9V type snap-on connectors!!!

I received my Rio Ab Belt 8 days ago after comparing the reviews on this and other EMS ab belts. It definitely seems to be durable and I can't imagine a weakness in its construction like other ab belt products. My waistline has never had much definition and I am pleasantly surprised at the results I have achieved so far. I usually do aerobics with a heart rate monitor strapped around my rib cage and yesterday it nearly fell off during aerobics because of the inches I have lost! I find the belt works best for me when I use the pads on the outer placement and standing seems to be more effective than sitting. I am impressed so far with the results. I did notice what appeared to be bruising in the areas where the pads were. It was not painful and the dark color was gone the next day so I don't know what that is about. Also, although it has 3 modes, it is sometimes difficult to get it into the mode that I want, like it gets stuck in a particular mode. But I would still recommend the product. I'm really starting to see an attractive shape!

I've used the Rio Ab Belt for about three weeks, and am satisfied with its performance. The belt is well made and I expect it to last for a long time. I use the belt every day for about an hour. I am about fifteen pounds overweight and have a slight belly. I purchased the ab belt because I have a back injury and cannot do sit-ups. I have noticed a slight tightening in the waist, but have probably lost only 1/2 inch in the abdomen. I find it works best if I wear it on the lower abdomen - otherwise it is too painful to use on the high settings. Also, I have used different gels with the belt and found that cheap skin lotion works best (even better than the gel that came with it. I also find that the belt works best while lying down. If I use it while walking around (as seen in the ads) I find the electrodes can slide to different positions, sometimes resulting in a painful shock (especially if there is not enough gel under them). Overall, however, I give the belt high marks, especially for people who cannot do the normal ab exercises.

I tried them all, I ordered the Fast Ab and it was broken when I got it. I then bought the Ab-Tronic just to find out in small print in the back of the manual that you have to replace the whole center piece after about 100 uses at 29 bucks a shot. I returned that and bought the one with two controls, that one stung and the velcro on the belt rubbed and was very uncomfortable. Then I found the Rio Ab Belt, nothing to replace but the battery and it was comfortable. I've had this one for a month now and I like it. I know it's not going to get rid of the fat but I can tell my stomach muscles are starting to get harder but I have a long ways to go. It also feels great on my lower back, I have a herinated disk and when I get out of bed I can barely walk so I strap on the Rio Belt to that part of my back and it seems to knock the pain out for a while.

I hope people see this review before wasting money on a different product. My brother-in-law got me hooked on the Ab Energizer a month ago and initially I loved it. Believe me, these devices really work IF you use them every day like any exercise. My wife and myself have definitely noticed a difference in my abdomen after just a few weeks! With the Ab Energizer, however, I noticed the belt was not made well and it started to wear out after a few weeks. After scanning the internet and reading this site as well as a few others, I bought the rio ab belt. It arrived today and I'm wearing it right now and it is by far superior to the Ab Energizer and probably any other device out there. Here's why: 1) The belt is obviously made better and it's much smaller/sleeker. 2) It runs on 1 9 volt battery as opposed to lithium batteries so it's cheaper to power in the long run. (The instruction manual specifically states that you shouldn't use the rechargeable 9 volt but I may try it anyway-that doesn't make sense to me) 3) It's more powerful. The other belt I used at the highest setting without a problem after a few days-despite just using the other belt this morning, I couldn't tolerate the highest setting on this belt yet. It's very powerful and one program gives you a 9 second constant contraction! 4) The pads are made of a durable rubber, not that cheap silver stuff which breaks down quickly and gives you skin burns. So it's definitely the way to go. It doesn't have other belts to use on arms or legs so it lacks that versatility, but I didn't buy an AB belt for my arms or legs. Hope this is helpful. TRUST ME...this is the one to get...you won't be disappointed!

After reading all the drawbacks to most of the Ab belts, I bought the Rio Ab Belt from the internet and received it one month ago. This belt is of high quality and is not going to break down. It has three modes and 10 intensities which really covers all I would ever need. Other good points are: 1) It uses a 9 volt battery and we got an adaptor for it so there is no battery cost. 2) It uses 3 very durable rubber pads which are washed after use and they don't look like they will wear out for a long long time. 3) It comes with a one year warrantee. 4) And it not only works, but works WELL.I just had to recommend the Rio Ab Belt after reading so many mixed reviews about the other belts.

I didn't find that the belt did anything to my abs and I used the product for 1 month every night for 1 hour. The only thing I did succeed in doing was spending a fortune on 9 volt batteries.

This belt is awesome. I've tried the fast abs and that belt is cheap and weak. The Rio belt is very strong. I have it on one of the lowest settings and I can still feel my muscles contracting like never before. This is what it's supposed to feel like. There is no stinging either. The other belts sting at the stronger settings. Not the Rio. It's built a lot better. It may be a little bulkier than the other belts, but believe me, it's worth it. I wear mine at work and I'm up and down all day. It doesn't bother me at all. I love this belt.

I just received my ab belt today. I normally don't write reviews for products I buy, but with this one I felt I had to. Even having used it just one time for the 20 minutes recommended. Let me first say this thing seems to be of good quality materials. It is nice and stretchy and can be fitted tight for good contact. I really felt my muscles contracting strong with this belt. I know this belt will do the job I had ordered it for.I would definitely recommend it!
