I love the bean. I bought my first bean January 2006. I am on bean No. 8!!! Can you believe it? This is the best exercise accesory I've ever found in the 30 years I've been working out. I, too take excellent care of my beans but to no avail. Hate their website. You can't give them feedback by email. You tell Customer Service and nothing happens. Wish they'd listen.

I ordered the Bean online after watching the infomercial. Its a bit of a lie (no shipping costs) whatever, but you get a $20 surcharge (what is that?) and $10.00 estimated taxes. When I received my product it inflated well, a little large but I found a place for it. I tried the video and ouch, a couple days later I'm still sore. I'm happy. I can't say I'm impressed with the hidden charges but overal the gym quality version is good. I keep it away from problems though. I have to reinflate the comfort portion regularly but other than that, I'm impressed. I just wish they had been honest about the shipping and handling charges.

I work in the PT area at our hospital. In our facility, PT is combined with an athletic workout facility. We have 2 "Beans" and they are almost always in use. There have been no problems with punctures. Our "Beans" are in use much of the day because The Bean seems to provide serious results without feeling the pain associated with other options. The PT therapists love them for their patients and we see some patients purchasing them for home use with excellent results as well. The shape it gives the torso/ab area is especially noticable. A positive aspect is that because it's so easy to use, people actually keep using this piece of equipment. And it really does take less then 2 min to inflate! So glad we have access to this great product in our work.

I bought and used the Bean and loved it! I used it along with the accompanying exercise DVD and got results within days. It was perfect for my back and abdominals. Within a couple of weeks, however, it got a leak on the upper side seam and a small puncture on the bottom. I can't think how this happened, since I only weight 120 lbs and by no means misused the product. A red flag should have gone up when the Bean came with a "repair kit," which I used to no avail. Too bad they couldn't have used more durable material. What good is a life time guarantee when they won't fix the product, and who wants to keep ordering new ones? Not me! As they say, "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me"!

I got my bean last August, so that's been about five months now. It has never once gotten punctured or torn. I see a lot of people are saying it popped or something. I just take really good care of :) It really is good and simple after you get the hang of it. I've definitely toned up and dropped close to twenty pounds now. It is definitatly worth it- I mean it's only $50 or so. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to incorporate exercise into their lives!!

I LOVE the bean! Well except for the fact that they all seem to get little holes along the seams and go flat. It's so easy to do about 100 "super crunches" without even trying and before you know it you're sore and have to do some plain old crunches, again very easy on this, I switch it up and do each side middle side, then slide down, and do the super squat for a while. I like to use it at least twice a day. I weigh about 275lbs, and when it's fully inflated, it's stable and easy to use while watching tv. The first one actually lasted a couple of months. I bought it because I couldn't get an appointment to get a massage and my back was killing me, so I figured it was worth a try, after all, the best way to alleviate lower lumbar pain and injuries is to strengthen your abs and glutes. Well, it was the best 60 bucks I ever spent! The same price I might add, as one massage would have cost, and after one use, I felt far more relief than ANY massage ever gave me. So I used it regularly until it died a slow leaky death. After a month of not using it, I ended up pulling my back out again, so I knew I had to get another bean, I thought I'd wait until I could get the Elite with the handles and the flex 10 system, but this couldn't wait. I used it one time, and it went flat within a few hours. I took it back to the store and they gave me another one, no problems, this one lasted about 5 days, and then little holes around the seams opened up, and the silly little patches had no effect. So, If you want to replace it regularly, it's great, but it's pretty disappointing that it's so poorly made. I mean Man just a little quality assurance would go a long way with this otherwise great product. So I can't say all bad things about it, because it does just what I want it to do, that is WHEN it's not going flat. I'll be getting another one, because sadly, it's the best thing I've found, maybe I'll get lucky sooner than later and get one that doesn't crap out on me.

I wish I could tell you how the bean works, but I can't because it never stayed inflated long enough for me to tell. I bought it from a retail store, and after a week of using it I called and requested a new one. It has been almost 2 months and I still don't have it. Another thing, its too hard to store. It was just a big ugly pillow taking up space in my room. So if you buy one (don't), make sure you have enough space.

I think the Bean is a fine product, but it makes me very dizzy when I use it. I have to stop during the workout to regain my equilibrium. I saw a review of this product on a local news channel, and they said the same thing, so I know I'm not alone.
27 Dec 2007 - Nadine of Arizona, USA writes:
I bought two The Beans, one for me and one for friend who exercises with me three times a week. They both held air for about two months of use, following which they continually deflate while using...or if left "standing." I cannot detect where the leaks are. I put them into the pool with me thinking I could see bubbles where air was leaking. Did not see anything. Cannot hear anything. When I remove the main fill cap, I can feel air releasing, but that is with the cap off. Since they deflate so quickly, I have to believe it's coming from a large area as opposed to a seam. So...I'm trying something: I filled The Beans and took Saran Wrap and put over fill cap before putting caps on. Will see if this handles the problem and will update if so. If no update, no fix! A shame as these cushions are great for free-weight work as well as for many other areas. But they are not inexpensive; and with the deflating problem, a waste of $.

I bought the Bean approx 60 days ago and it is terrible. It is completely unstable and you slip right off the end and off the sides. It hurts your back greatly. And it deflates everyday. When I called to complain after genuinely tryng the product they refused to refund my money. The do only say must return within 30 days but I wanted to give it a fair shot and really try it but it causes injury. They said its my problem and I'm stuck with it. So much for customer service.

I had my first Bean for about 3 months before it deflated. I pumped it back up but it wouldn't stay inflated. The company replaced it without problem. Unfortunately, it happened again and then again, always around the 3 or 4 month mark. As far as I'm concerned, three strikes you're out so after #3 died, I asked for a refund. They refused. I pointed out the guarantee printed on their box. They responded that constantly replacing the item, regardless of how many lemons I received, satisfied their guarantee. I disgreed and registered a complaint with the BBB Online. I received a refund. These people are making a lot of money off a defective product. Since the product lasts for about 3 months before deflating, I bet that a lot of people have already stopped using it. For those of us who actually used The Bean regularly, how many times do you think the average person will go through the hassle of calling, being put on hold, and then waiting for a new one to arrive? In addition, so many people don't bother to follow up on defective merchandise and just eat the loss. I had both the original and deluxe versions- both models were defective. The Bean would be a useful product if they could get the obvious design/manufacturing problem fixed.

I bought the bean and returned it. It is comfortable to sit and watch tv on. you can get a good workout on but and thighs, by sitting at the bottomedge of it and rocking backwards, pushig with your legs. I fell off on the fancier maneuvers! I would have kept it if I had unlimited funds, but decided its not worth te money. However, its a 1000% better than the balance ball. I juust wish it was cheaper than 50. Would buy it againfor less than 20.

I recently bought this product and I kept falling off it and after several times, I took it back. I think I will go back to the gym and use the equipment there to get rid of the inches of my waist and stomach. It is not worth the money.

I own a women's gym and they loved it! Everyone needed to be shown the proper way for beginners to use it and more advanced exercisers. However, I have been through FIVE Beans now and will not purchase again. The first Bean was the original and lasted the longest. The next 4 were all the Deluxe Bean and popped within a month of owning. I have returned them all. I am convinced that the new large black inflation cap is what caused the immediate deflations - that cap is probably defective. With that said, if the company can improve this problem, they would have a fantastic product.

I love the Bean. I've had the old models and the new models, 6 total. I started with the Bean in January 2006. I had to go through 4 DVD's before I got one I could actually watch. It would be nice if they made the Bean so it would not deflate and made up-to-date videos to go along with their changes to the Bean. Make it better, please!!!!!!

I love the product but I have popped 3 now. They sent me a new one with no promblem but did it again. I even bought the flex 10 to go with it this time but now I have no bean. I don't want to call and complain again so I give up! going to buy a ball.

I have had The Bean for about a month now and I love it! When you do all of the exercises on it, you really can feel the burn from your abs working. I also love how you can incorporate Pilates into your workout on The Bean. Another 'exercise' I would recommend that works is using the pump that comes with The Bean as an inner thigh squeeze 'machine'. Just put the pump in between your thighs and squeeze about 30 times, just like how you would inflate The Bean. I've been using the pump for a few weeks and it has really worked my inner thighs because of all of the resistance! :)

I was skeptical at first because I read online how it deflates real easily. But I wanted to try it anyway and I don't regret it. I purchased the Bean Deluxe + Flex 10 thinking I'd have time to use it on a daily basis. I've had it for about a month now and I LOVE IT! I had back pain, mainly lower back, and the first thing I tried was the lower back stretch after turning the bean over. It hurt at first but after a while, my lower back feels 99% better! I tried to follow the exercises on the DVD and couldn't finish the whole thing. I was exhausted but I was able to work up a sweat. Since I haven't been exercising on my bean daily, I don't know if that's why it hasn't busted but if it ever does, I'd order another one just for my back.

Firstly, I overdid it when I first started using it as I could do a lot more than maybe I should have, so hurt like crazy the first few times I used it. I think its brilliant, nothing seems to strengthen my core with such little time. I know if I could be dedicated to do half hour a day, I would be amazing and toned....but I am not that great. Downside, its got two punctures in two weeks and I am sure they said it was indesctructible. I will buy another though, as I am giving it the benefit of the doubt and I do enjoy using it.

I have used it 4 to 5 days a week since May as part of a more comprehensive exercise routine: bike, free weights and 30 min on the Bean. I've lost 15 lbs. Have not had air loss problems on the older version. It is far more stable than an exercise ball, but if you are really not fit, than everything but a couch will seem unstable. I picked out the exercises I wanted as the video has poor pacing. I do crunches, side rises, V-ups, superman rises/swimming move and supine presses with dumbells. It worked for me. I can't see how the new model is any better. If you need to rest your neck, you're not working your midsection. I suggest you use a sticky yoga mat under the Bean to keep it and your feet in place. It helps a lot to add stability.
