If you are extremely overweight, this product has some positions which are not easy, even with the modification. You do become more flexible, which is great! I'll continue with the program, since I'm so tired of making excuses and filling my closet with another gizmo and gadget failure.

I received my tapes 1 week ago. I found the moves hard to do since I am overweight, and also big breasted. It is hard to curl into a lot of the positions with a large chest. And a lot of the exercises put a lot of strain on my lower back. Not to mention how extremely slow moving the video is. (I added Tae-bo to my workout just to get pumped up. I use pilates after tae-bo for a good stretch, and cool down, then I do the tae-bo 8 min workout to loosen up from pilates.) All in all, you can feel a bit of burn the next day. I also have to comment on the poor quality of the tape, it got stuck in the VCR twice.

I just started Winsor Pilates 1 week ago and WOW! I already can feel the results. After one day - I knew this was it. I have NEVER liked exercise -this is the only program I think I can actually do and IT WORKS! I know some people think it is slow, but that works well for me because it is constantly reminding me how to do the positions and breathing PROPERLY - sometimes I find myself letting my breathing go and the tape puts me back on track - because what is the point in doing the exercises if your not doing them right!

As an avid exerciser and an owner of about 50 exercise tapes, I found Winsor Pilates to be one of the more disappointing ones. It was extremely slow and boring. I found myself fast-forwarding through much of the tape. I run an average of 25 miles a week and strength train about 3 times a week. I thought Winsor Pilates would help me relax and stretch my muscles, but all it did was frustrate and bore me. I admit that the infomercials were very convincing, but I honestly don't think that anyone will be able to lose any weight or develop "long, lean muscles" with the tapes. Save your money.

I bought the pilates videos last year and have been pleased with them. I have not seen dramatic results, because I haven't put the time in (not due to the tapes' slowness - I like the pace, just my own laziness). The benefit I have received is relief from back pain, which I haven't been able to find from anything else. I walk and bike for aerobic exercise and use the pilates tapes when my back needs a little extra help. My husband keeps telling me that if I would get up and do my video every morning I wouldn't be in pain, and I am sure he is right. The 20 minute tape is like instant relief for me.

Overall, albeit after only 8 workouts,I give a favorable review of Winsor Pilates. I did use The Firm in the past and thought it was quite good but quit using it over time. I think it eventually became boring. Currently, I lift weights twice a week, walk, and use aerobic exercise machines at the gym periodically. Winsor Pilates is the first home workout I actually look forward to doing. The exercises are enjoyable, moreso than others I've tried- I'd even say "fun" because they make me feel graceful, I can see my balance, strength and stretching ability improve with each workout, and they are different from anything I've done before. As far as results I do feel tighter already but of course weight loss remains to be seen.

I was taken in by how well this program was going to work. When I ordered it from the infomercial I was so excited and waited for it to come. Once I did come, I watched the first video to see if I was going to be able to do it, I was overwhelmed by how difficult it looked. I had just recovered from surgury and was just plain paranoid! I think I just had too much weight to lose, if you have to lose like 20 pounds and firm up, this should work great. I don't know, I will stick with something else, and when I get stronger I will give it another try.

I tried out Winsor Pilates in a local studio. I had a one-on-one instructor for a number of weeks, so I was sure to be doing the exercises correctly. On the positive side I will say the exercises felt good, and by the end of a session I felt well-stretched. On the other hand, I was a little suspicious about them doing much good because I never breathed hard, nor did I ever really feel any muscle burn.

I received the DVD's a week ago and I have to say I'm impressed. I've been alternating the 20 min with the accelerated. Walking 3-5 miles a day is a little unrealistic with 2 small children (that's a workout in itself), but after 2 workouts I feel like my posture is better, I'm standing up taller and I don't get lazy about pooching out my belly so much, I'm MUCH more aware of my abs then I have ever been.

Winsor pilates really does work. I saw the informercial and it convinced me that it worked, but then again, almost all infomercials convinced me. The difference was that this workout interested me so much that i watched the infomercial about 5 times. I finally ordered it and watched it before I tried it. I thought it looked really easy but it was actually challenging. I love the accelerated workout because i prefer longer and more challenging workouts. At first, I couldn't get into all the positions, but after only two workouts, i could feel my abs getting stronger and i was able to do all of the positions. I am very satisfied with Winsor Pilates.

I purchased the Winsor Pilates tapes in June of 2003. Being a 38 year old woman who was considerably overweight I can't say enough about Mari's tapes. I began using the tapes on a daily basis and have seen an incredible difference not only in inches lost, body tone but weight loss as well. I know that the moves can be very difficult in the beginning, however like anything else, if you don't stick with it you won't progress and see results. I realize the pace can be a little slow, however I do much prefer a slow soothing instructor to those who yell while jumping up and down. This is a very elegant set of exercises that when done correctly are very effective. I would highly recommend Maris tapes to anyone looking to tone and firm up.

I personly have not had much luck with this product. My mom on the other hand has had luck with it. For me I did it for about 2 months and saw no such luck, I mean I was able to do the Advanced videos and everything and saw no change in my appearence, but I have to saw it did strengthen my stomach and legs but no change in the appearence. So I say that it depends on the person. I'm not dissing it but I wouldn't give it 5 stars.

A sensible diet and using the Windsor Pilates Cd's helped me go from a size 20 to a size 8 in 4.5 months. I lost 40 pounds. (****)4 stars for Windsor Pilates. My doctor is proud of me!

I bought Winsdor Pilates about a year ago and I definately felt like it was doing something but couldn't really see it. It is EXTREMELY slow paced and hard to stick to. You could get the workout done a lot faster if Marey wouldn't talk so much. Worth a try if you are willing to stick with a really intense slow paced workout.
