I love this workout! I'm in pretty good shape, and very energetic so I went right into the Advanced. If you're already familiar with jazz dance, basic ballet and yoga you will love these workouts, they are fun! The music isn't boring, it's a combination of upbeat mixed with Indian sounding music. The setting isn't in some budget studio, but in the beautiful outdoors next to a pond or in a colorful outdoor Indian inspired studio. You can tell a lot of thought went into the dance chorography, music and setting. The instructors are pretty good; I find them easy to follow. My only complaint is Gillian (the blonde one) is annoying. She needs to lay off some of the silly pseudo new age hippy type expressions like "Shine your heart out" and "Know that at the core you are divine" etc. Her voice is very nasal and she tries too hard to 'seem' like she's having fun, but it's obviously forced. In the advanced dance segment she seems to laugh for no reason, then she moans during some of the workouts ...it's annoying, but I still enjoy these workouts nonetheless. Someone said that there is pilates combined into these workouts, I have the Basic and Advanced and there is no pilates that I know of on these workouts. Another person said they sprained their spine?????? How did you do that?!? And someone else said they had bad neck pain; I doubt that the YBB is to blame. I would think that has more to do with the person already having a pre-exiting physical problem or they must be doing something very wrong during these workouts. I've been doing these workouts for a number of weeks and I've had absolutely no problems, but I should mention I'm young, and have been active my whole life. My experience has been that I feel like I'm having fun while I'm working out and I feel energized. The next day after the advanced ballet segment I usually have a sore tushy, but that's a good thing! I don't know how effective YBB would be if someone wanted to lose weight because I didn't buy YBB for that reason, I just wanted a fun workout and I got it! If anyone wants to lose weight I'd still recommend this DVD combined with a healthy diet because any level of activity is good for you and better than not working out at all. I highly recommend this workout to all who are energetic, in good health and who enjoy dance.

This is a great workout. It combines dance with sculpting moves and yoga and pilates. I'm somewhat of a workout fanatic, so I didn't see huge weightloss with it (but I didn't need to). However, I did notice a decrease in that "pouch" we women hate so much. The workout is easy and fun. It works your muscles, but doesn't strain them. It is really worth the price. I even bought the live series available on beach body.

I'm in my 6th week of using YBB. After reading the other reviews on this page, I'm quitting. I had to start going to a chiropractor a week ago, after 2 weeks of terrible neck pain that would not go away. I thought I had strained my neck and back by carrying my baby around. But it makes real sense now. The pain started after I began the YBB program. I've never had pain like this before, and I've had 3 babies. How did I not figure this out before? I thought that the workouts would help make me stronger, but my neck pain is getting more severe. I can barely turn my head. Think twice, everyone! If you start feeling pain in your neck and/ or back after trying this workout, quit! The workout is most likely the cause.

I bought this because I wanted to add some cardio in the morning, and though I did work up a sweat doing it, I found that it messed my back up. I don't know if it was the working out barefoot or the moves but the pain was terrible, I'm unfortunately I'm sending it back.

This is a nice, fun, funky workout. I like to use these on days when I do not feel like doing an extremely intense workout. I love the dance (cardio) routine in the Advanced Workout. I have never done yoga, but I found this one easy to do. I also like the fact that they include a person with a less than perfect body shape into their workout.

This was a GOD AWFUL product. I SPRAINED MY SPINE using this. If you purchase the YBB Godess packagae it comes with a ab and core dvd DON'T do ab section 1. I'm in pain now and have to look out for nerve DAMAGE to my spine. The meditation is awesome but please, please go very very slowly and if you hurt please tell your Dr IMMEDIATELY. I am sending my YBB back this Sat to get my money back. This is only good if you are used to Yoga but it is NOT for beginners especially if you have BACK problems. BUYER BEWARE

I purchased YBB because I wanted a more functional, less equipment oriented, fun workout. I was a firm believer in the "no pain, no gain" approach to exercise. This workout is challenging, fun and quite doable. I especially appreciate the mind-body-spirit connection present in all the workouts. Unlike my other workouts, which include Kathy Smith, Karen Voight, The Firm, and other Beach Body workouts, this workout leaves me feeling relaxed, energized and more centered. I actually look forward to doing these workouts. Even if you are an advanced exerciser, this will challenge you. I especially liked the fact that the exercisers come in all body types, not just the reed-thin types you see in most exercise videos. Teigh and Gillian are fun instructors. They have wonderful chemistry, and help to keep it fun. Some of the camera angles on the Basic workout are odd, and the "whoosh" breathing thing can be irritating. Overall, as an intermediate home video exerciser I wholeheartedly recommend the Goddess set of this program to anyone looking for a truly unique approach to exercising. many of the exercises are things you've seen before, but with fun dancy additions that are easy to follow. I was a bit skeptical at first because I have not been pleased with other Beach Body products, but this set is right on. The only other problem I have with the set is there are commercials for other Beach Body products tacked onto the end of each workout. Very tacky, in my opinion. Thank goodness you can skip these shameless promotions. Give it a try, you'll be glad you did!
